Breakfast not included and very expensive. Otherwise excellent. In the center of the Innenstadt and within walking distance of tram, bus, and S-Bahn.

Charming hotel near St. ThomasPosted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: Clean, comfortable, friendly staff (spoke English well), very close to sights
Cons: The room was not particularly large, but it was suitable for two people.
Location: Walking distance: St. Thomas' church, bach museum, St. Nicholas, Cafe Riquet, Auerbach's Keller, Stadtgeschichtliches, Museum in der Runden Ecke
The arcona Living bach hotel was great. It was literally steps away from St. Thomas' church and the bach museum, plus within easy walking distance from St. Nicholas, Cafe Riquet, Auerbach's Keller, Museum in der Runden Ecke, and Markt Platz/Stadtgeschichtliches. The room wasn't the largest room; but the furnishings were modern particularly the bathroom fixtures. This hotel was comfortable and was just the perfect location for exploring Leipzig on foot.

Enjoyed my stay. Good sized room in good condition with small kitchen. Nice town squares nearby with plenty of bars/restaurants.

Quiet and comfortablePosted Jan 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
Stayed at the back in the new part, could hear the bells in the daytime but was not disturbed by them in the night. Beds soft (comfortably so). Open plan bathroom behind frosted glass in the modern style. Advantage is that my friend heard the bells from the Thomaskierche and could go straight across the road for the Motette. Perhaps the neighbourhood is a bit TOO quiet. It might be tricky to find this hotel by car but with the new S-Bahn to the Markt it is easy to come to from the Hauptbahnhof. Didn't have breakfast as that seemed a bit pricey (although a German breakfast can include a lot if you want to eat it all). My only reservation is really over the room price (which unhelpfully I am unable to refer to). While it was not unreasonable there were cheaper options in the Innenstadt had I booked earlier. Staff helpful. Reading room has a fascinating collection of musical books many with interleaved newspaper clippings and pasted in items - likely from the estate or effects of some Leipzig music lover.

Location: We loved Ristorante Fra Diavola the is only a few block away.Their Carbonara is so good that we went back the next night so my husband could have it.
We loved the location. You are close to the plazas, the shopping, there were Christmas Markets everywhere! The staff recommended Ristorante Fra Diavolo, which is wonderful.

Just fabulous room, staff and locationPosted Oct 30, 2013
Pros: It felt like someone's (very expensive) house, it was very relaxing and we felt like welcome friends.
Cons: More bandwidth on the wifi please :)
We arrived just after 1300, and at first struggled to find the hotel, just because the sat nav wanted us to drive through a set of bollards! We parked at the Markt car park (the nearest one) and the hotel was a short distance from there. So the room was ready and was spacious and clean. We have two small children and their beds had been done, with little tubes of child friendly shampoo. There were also little bags of sweets on the pillows. A nice touch. The rooms were modern (we had two, one for the kids - which was the sitting room with a converted sofa bed, and the other was for us), and were air conditioned. They also had electric blinds and a kitchenette which was great for preparing the odd meal for the kids. The city is great and the hotel is right on the doorstep of the main city centre, but just far enough away to miss the busy and noisy streets, although it wouldn't matter since the hotel is built behind a decent restaurant. A great experience and with the free wifi it was a home from home.

Beware if you're pregnant or of the wrong categoryPosted Sep 2, 2013
Cons: Staff training. Attentiveness to guest needs.
Extremely disappointing! We arrived 14:00 on an August Sunday afternoon after a four hour trip to Leipzig and a walk through town from the train station. We were promptly told that check-in was 15:00 and we needed to wait the additional hour as our particular room was not yet finished. As my fiance is SEVEN MONTHS PREGNANT we asked whether any other rooms were available as she really needed to put her feet up and relax a bit. We were told that, although the hotel was not fully booked, we did not reserve a category of room that would allow us to be put into any of the rooms that were currently standing empty! While we understand that sometimes concessions can not be made, in this case we were dealing with a hot, summer Sunday afternoon in a non-sold-out situation AND a pregnant woman ... and we were basically told to hit the streets for another hour. The staff could have really been our heroes ... instead they earned a rank in the zeroes. And, for those of you curious as to where they were so intent at putting their newest guests, here's the trash/grafitti-filled view from our room. There are MANY better options in Leipzig and, to think, we could have been in the Steigenberger for just another €20! Ridiculous. We shall not be returning.

Excellent hotel & room!Posted Aug 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
Situated right next to Thomaskirche, the location couldn't be better. Hotel staff were very kind and helpful. The room was extremely clean and well taken care of. Definitely I would stay here again for my next trip to Leipzig!
