The pillows were not very good. Didn't have anything to see out of the window but a hill with rocks.

Humid, mildewy and damp

Posted Jul 15, 2014
The airconditiong had been off in our room when we came in. So it was very hot and humid. The whole building seemed damp with humidity but our room was worse. The place seemed old and not a good choice for an allergy sufferer like me. Could not breathe through my nose at all the next morning. Was happy to leave.

All OK but nothing special.

Pros: The pool. Breakfast if there was anything left. The price.
Cons: Keep the breakfast bar stocked. The bathroom musty smell and heat were killing me. Install a fan.
Location: A lot to do. Close to Chicago, Indiana Beach, the Dunes, etc. Always a fair or carnival going on also for the kids.
The price was a bargain, the rooms were clean and the staff was nice. We stayed for 5 days so were able to see what was good and what wasn't. Our room was somewhat antiquated but nice, had the smell of fresh paint(avocado green, from the 70's). The bathroom always smelled musty, not fan in there, and it was hot in the bathroom, no ventilation at all. Also, the toilet paper was treated like gold there, one roll per day and with three people in there that went quick. They did provide more when asked though. The pool was great for my 8 year old daughter. The breakfast was pretty much first come first serve, it seemed like nothing was restocked, once that was gone, that was it. There are tons of restaurants nearby though so you will never starve. All in all it was a nice stay, but nothing special. What made it worth it was the price and since we were visiting family we were gone a lot.

Stayed 2 nights in the area for a nephew's open house. Nice quiet place to stay. Reasonable price for the weekend.

Cons: Change carpet in hallways
Comfortable and clean room. Motion sensor lights were new for me in a hotel room. Overall, very pleased.

Clean room but kind of small for the price. The whirlpool tub was small and in an inconvienent place. Breakfast is not mentionable.

Great value, good decor, big rooms, good beds!

Pros: Big rooms, clean, good beds
Cons: Lobby needs updating don't let that stop you
Location: Quiet, off the street location
This hotel is set back off of the main street so it is quiet. Very clean. Staff was great. When you first arrive the lobby looks out of date but the rooms are big and well decorated. Try to get upgraded to a suite, which is big and has a seperate area for making coffee so you don't have to make it in the bathroom! The breakfast bar is adequate at best, but open starting at 6 even on weekends. The free wi-fi does not need a password and was super fast. Overall for the price we paid we were very pleased! Try Three Floyds in Munster for dinner - worth the long wait.
