Recommended: Everything about the Marriott was great except for the overpowering scent in the room, especially on the bed. The linens seemed to be reeking of some type of air freshener or something. It was harsh and choking in nature. I even tried to cover my face with a tee-shirt to help me sleep, but to no avail. Someone with allergies or respiratory conditions would definitely have to leave the room. I am not overly sensitive to scents at all, but this would absolutely prevent me from staying again. Recommended: Friendly, competent staff! Warm cookies on check-in! Convenience store in lobby! Fast and absolutely delicious room service! Comfy beds with tons of pillows! Right in the heart of Nashville -- one block from the TN State Museum! Recommended: Compared to other downtown hotels, this is by far the best. The service and ammenities are excellent. The breakfast and free lite meal in the early p.m. are all very good. They have a separate computer room, and the workout room is good too. See all reviews for this hotel

Not recommended: Upon checking in I asked the front desk if they had a high floor and she said yes we do but she didn't say anything about the substantial higher rate! They also have a highvalet parking rate. It was clean and food was good. See all reviews for this hotel

Recommended: Check-in staff was down right rude. We arrived about an hr early and it was the end of their shift, but still! The evening/night shift and all valet personnel are extremely nice and accomodating!!! We were unable to access the internet from our room as the previous guest cut the wires, but the night staff was trying their best to help out. The rooms are on the smaller size with three people sharing a room. But for the location and price, it worked out just fine. We walked to/from the Sommet center several times. The walk back to the hotel is ALL UP HILL!! Just pace yourself and all should work out ok. There is only one elevator and it is slow! With that and only 1 valet person, check-out may be a little aggravating. There was a huge concert/benefit going on so maybe next time it won't be so busy. See all reviews for this hotel

Recommended: I was there for a conference and found this hotel to be perfectly located a short, enjoyable walk from the conference center, arena, and the honky-tonks. Breakfast was great! Recommended: Other than a few 'technical' issue's with in room movies, internet access not being free and with as many rooms as I reserved and paid for (very costly)...so free WIFI should, at the very least, be included, this hotel, is exquisitely, beautiful! I wish I could remember all the names of the staff, but I do remember Laura. She treated me like royalty and made every effort to accomadate any and all of our needs as did her associates during the period of mine and my families stay.Despite the fact that our family had procured a dozen or so rooms, we were not allowed to take a few snap shots of my niece as she left the hotel on her way to her wedding. Laura was off during the weekend and the weekend staff, well lets just say, avoid staying on the weekend! I do recommend that you visit this hotel no matter where you stay while in Nashville...it's an architechural splender! See all reviews for this hotel
