A hotel in transition?

Posted Aug 19, 2013
Pros: Helpful staff
Cons: Confusing hotel name and tatty decor in places. Difficult to find in the dark.
Location: Good location in Glencoe Village.
This feels like a hotel in transition. It’s called the Glencoe Hotel on many websites but when you get there its called the Glencoe Inn which is confusing. On the plus side the staff were helpful and efficient, particularly when we asked to arrive late on the first night. They were also able to provide us with a family room with 4 beds, which is hard to find. Some of the areas of the hotel have been refurbished and are well decorated and comfortable while other areas are a bit on the downtrodden side. The place next door is new and stylish with a restaurant and bar area that also serves food. The organisation of this left a bit to be desired ( the same 4 song tracks playing over and over again for example) but given how isolated Glencoe village is, it was nice not to have to drive.
