hotel in the highlands, scotland

Pros: the food was excellent, breakfast and dinner were terrific.
Cons: For the high price, I expected newer looking furniture. The current furniture is old and worn, they can updated such as re-upholstered etc...
Location: there is a lot of outdoor things you could do.
The food and staff were wonderful but the furniture is old and tired looking. it's not because they are traditional but because they have been used a lot.

One night in heaven!

Posted Oct 8, 2011 on Hotels.com
We spent one night at Inverlochy touring around Scotland - it was just gorgeous. The setting was wonderful, and the service was so friendly and attentive, right from the personal greeting at the rather impressive door. It feels rather like staying at a country house, very homely and welcoming. The restaurant was also spectacular - they operate a jacket and tie dresscode, which we hadn't realised (we'd had to pack light!), but they were happy to lend some clothes with no awkwardness. Yes, it's expensive - but for one night, it was absolutely worth it. We really enjoyed ourselves.
