Good value.

Pros: Location and facilities. Varied choice for breakfast
Cons: Bathroom acceptable but needs modernising.
Location: Ideal for Aviemore and surrounding areas which has extensive activities
Overall experience was good. Lots to do and see in and around the Aviemore area. Mountain to climb, paths to walk or cycle. The Macdonald centre contributes to the whole experience.

You get what you pay for

Would hate to go when busy. Had to wait 10mins to be checked in as only 2 reception staff working. Despite several (at least 4 mngt types milling around, who are obviously too import to deal with minions)

It was a cheap and acceptable place to stay. Bathr

Pros: The breakfast was very good
Cons: Removing mould in bathrooms, and a notice in the reception or as you enter the compound that you have to go to exhibition building to sign in.
Location: Walking, cafes,
This place was an acceptable place to stay for the price you paid. My dad had to moved room due to the noise of the elevator, but that wasn't an issue, and the staff were very professional. The bathroom didn't seem to have an extractor fan, and you could see mould on the walls. My family and i never used the facilities, so i can make no comment. The breakfast was excellent. Overall it was okay

Aviemore Hotel...

Posted Jun 3, 2014
Pros: Close to the local amenities.
Cons: Room decor...
Location: Great if your into the outdoors and sight seeing. Plenty to see and do locally especially if you're into walking, cycling or water sports.
A nice hotel located in the centre of Aviemore. I spent three nights here, the Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean but the room decor is looking a bit dated and could do with a refurbishment.

Disappointed

Posted May 12, 2014
Pros: Breakfast in main hotel.
Cons: Bathrooms and rooms need updating. No character or atmosphere to rooms, bare and functional.
Location: Excellent location for all Aviemore has to offer.
The main McDonald Resort is lovely but the Inn annex was musty, no one on reception and wa basically an overspill for "cheaper" paying customers! The room had a stale , unused smell, chipped bath but clean bedding and a good view. It was an eerily quiet, uninhabited annex, bit spooky as no one on reception, we had to go to main hotel to check in. Breakfast in the main hotel was excellent. Staff in main hotel very friendly.

Centrally located hotel, in a fantastic region.

Pros: Close proximity to public transport.Cleanliness was exemplary throughout,& staff were always courteous & helpful. My room was comfortable & spacious.
Cons: Décor tired.Limited t.v channels,& NO RADIO;no mini-fridge;showerhead non-adjustable. Fittings need updating, but all work, & are well-maintained.
Location: Ski/active sports resort.Excellent, helpful T.I.O advises on the many,& varied, options on offer.Good choice of dining venues.Great place for all ages.
Solo traveller, staying for one week. Overall, I found the hotel very acceptable, though not luxurious; reasonably good value for money.

Good value for money

Posted Feb 21, 2014
Pros: Proximity to town and the ski resort. Tidy. Nice breakfast.
Cons: The rooms could be cleaner. There were a few bits of wear and tear in the room but it is still is value for money.
Location: Lots of bars and a few restaurants but be warned scottish cuisine is generally not high quality. Check out the Aussies bar near the station.
If you want to come to Aviemore but don't want to spend too much cash then this is a good option. Good breakfast, tidy room and polite staff. If you're bringing a bird, I'd think about upgrading.
