We were in the Glenlivet suite on this occasion and it was much better than the top floor rooms we were allocated on our last visit. Although the hotel has seen much better days, the staff compensated by being very helpful and friendly.

A Hotel heading into oblivionPosted Oct 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
I used to like this Hotel and it saddens me to see it diving down the plughole. The owners haven't invested money and it's really beginning to show. The staff are struggling to stay interested and committed to their Hotel, but they generally seem to think it's a lost cause. It would be a tragedy for Thurso to lose a 100 + bedroom Hotel. Are Oxford Hotels listening? ..........it doesn't look like it. Sad really. The last straw was being charged a crisp ten pound note for a small bottle of wine and a pint of Strongbow cider and this by the Hotel Manager. We won't be back I'm afraid, despite it being cheap as chips. You to draw the line somewhere.

They upgraded us to a lovely, large corner room - love old, elegant hotel rooms!

Very convenientPosted Aug 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed the location and staff were very friendly. The hotel is run-down and in need of fluffing-up, including getting rid of some odors that exist in the lobby. Our room was nice enough once we were away from unsavory areas..

Not Bad but Not Good???Posted Aug 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
Think about the location and think what is open for evening food, the hotel is a old Pub and stops serving meals at 7pm and the pub closed at 9 pm, but the breakfast was good. What is this a Pub or a Hotel I thing neither of these, its your choice but there are better places just a few doors away?

Disappointing standardsPosted Aug 11, 2013
Pros: Handy from station
Cons: Noise at night
Reception. Not too welcoming at 10pm after a long journey Breakfast very basic. Only tinned grapefruit and cereals. Cooked items were not freshly cooked Boy racers up to 3 am outside at front of hotel so avoid front rooms.
