"Nice hotel with excellent breakfast"
Check in was very busy...we did not get the king suite room that we reserved and got a double room instead. Room size is huge can't complain there. Our room smelled of an old smoking room though (rm 135), I didn't complain because they did not have much room left to give out amongst the people that were checking at the time. The room could use some updates, peeling wallpaper in the bathroom and wrinkled carpeting. The air conditioning and bath fan were very loud but I guess that was to our advantage because it muffled any possible noise that could have existed from the outside. Reasonable rates and excellent breakfast...only thing about the breakfast choices I didn't like we're the cut up fresh fruit...the liquid it was served in resulted in a weird after taste on the fruit. I saw people wasting their fruits prob because of the taste.

"Great hotel"
This is a very nice hotel in a great location. It is within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, and the waterfront area. Upon arriving we were greeted by Danny who immediately provided a wealth of information about the hotel and area. this was very helpful since it was our first trip to Scottsdale. The king suite is a large, well appointed room. It was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. Marriott thought of everything here, right down to the antibacterial wipes left on each TV remote.

Small suite, good for a family with children, where privacy is not so important among members, because everything could be heard in every stance. Good breakfast.

"A Nice Retro Resort"
When we arrived the atmosphere of the resort and the rooms reminded me of stepping into the 1970's. I was a little disappointed that we were charged extra for a 'daily resort fee' upon our departure, when I used the pool and facilities only once during my 5 day stay. Most of our stay was with family so we were not at the hotel very much. The place was nicely maintained and clean. I did not appreciate the sidewalk cleaner(power washer)running for 2 hours for the only day that I did spend at the pool area, which happened to be a Saturday. When we arrived at our room there was a musty, old hotel type of odor, but it was not because the room wasn't clean because it was. I purchased some air freshener and candles to attempt to mask the odor, it seemed to be some better when we left. I don't know if I would stay at the El Dorado again, mainly because of the musty smell in the room.

"Boutique Hotel close to Old Towne"
Overall I enjoyed my stay at the resort. You don't need to rent a car because they have a complimentary/ gratuity based Escalade shuttle to transport you within 5 miles of the resort. Although it would be nice if they had more than one Escalade to shuttle people around, especially during peak hours; otherwise you could be waiting a good 25+ minutes. The grounds were well kept and relaxing. They have a good mix of music playing near the pool, which made it inviting to hang out poolside all day. They limit your in-room amenities (i.e. coffee pot, microwave, etc.), for which you can ask to have sent to your room, but be aware some of the services come with a price. However, if you do not mind walking from your room to the resort lobby, in the morning, they do offer a complimentary coffee bar from 6a-11a. Also, they offer complimentary wine every night from 5-6p, which is a nice way to unwind even further. My friend and I were looking for a short, relaxing getaway and this resort did not disappoint. Our stay was just that. In general, if you want a louder scene get a room near the pool area; if you are looking for more quiet then get a room near the lagoon or the courtyard. Whatever you do don't get a room on the outside because you will be overlooking an asphalt parking lot. Rooms facing the parking lot are one of the downsides to this resort, for I feel that all rooms should be facing inward to their property and not outward towards the parking.

"visiting family"
Staff couldn't have been nicer/more accommodating. Easy parking, check-in/check-out process streamlined to make it hassle free. While the room was clean, it was a little "frayed" around the edges. (Wallpaper just starting to peel, carpet in the beginning stages of coming up where the seams meet.) The TV was in an odd spot in the room, being along a wall on the side of the bed vs being at the opposite wall facing the foot of the bed. (A little difficult to view if you're sharing the bed with anyone.) Overall, nothing major, certainly the issues raised didn't impact our stay. We'd stay there again.

"Great place excellent location "
The hotel is in Old Town Scottsdale a perfect location . I was heading out to Old Town to meet a friend for an evening of dinner and adult beverages . For the price and location it was way better to get a hotel room to get a DUI . Park my car and walked to the restaurant . Walked back afterward. Very clean room . And very quiet for Saturday night . It's youngers hip place but very comfortable
