"Had a great stay - not sure for kids"
Went for spring break with my young kids ( 3 & 6) Scottsdale has so much for kids - from the kid's museum and Railroad park to all the parks and baseball. Picked this hotel because I liked the vibe online and wanted to get away from the resorts. Everyone was super nice. Food was a happy surprise - lots of healthy choices and gluten free choices for my son. However....this is a party hotel. Biggest deal with getting a room is getting access to the pool where everyone is drinking pretty hard. Music DJ playing loud during the afternoon. STILL...they gave us a room far enough away from the pool, were incredibly nice, and we had a great time. Did not spend that much time at the hotel. Rooms were big. Location really easy to walk into town. We had fun. Probably would not stay here again with little kids - but no regrets.

"Girls night out!"
We were greeted at the valet and quickly checked in early to an expansive beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the whole world! We spent a couple hours poolside that was sparse- not a focal point , but the wate cool on a hot day. Orange Sky was a first rate dinner- great wine list and delicious menu. Of course the casino provided a few hours of silly entertainment. We were sorry there was not a live craps table tho! It was a wonderful escape and a really nice experience .

"A Two-Day Outing"
Though we live in Arizona (Flagstaff), we hadn't been in Phoenix for many years. We drove down with two bicycles and spent three days bicycling the Canal Trail (down to the Old Town River Walk area) and another green strip trail that extends all the way down to Tempe. We ate a pleasant lunch one late afternoon at Crust - Home of the Rustica at the strip-mall corner of Hayden and Indian Bend (near Albertsons); another lunch at PF Chang's off Indian School Rd (River Walk area); a dinner at the Hotel Valley Ho (ZuZu Lounge) on Main Street, Old Scottsdale... and, our final night, we were so tired we just got take-out food from Goldman's Deli near the corner of Hayden and Indian Bend (where we generally unloaded our bicycles to start each day's venture). We liked them all - even Goldman's Deli was excellent for our purposes. We also had a drink at Zinc's on the Kierland Plaza - another spot to recommend. We did not take advantage of the Athletic Center, though it's quite extensive.

"Excellent Service - Great Hotel"
Everything was great at this resort. But what really struck me was how well taken care of we felt. Whoever is running this place has done a great job training the staff to anticipate your needs and take ownership over meeting them. Here is an example that told me everything I needed to know about this place. We were at the Grill for lunch and we ordered two different drinks. When they arrived, they looked the same, but were in two different type of glasses. The waitress did not know which was which and she had to ask the bartender. When the bill came, we were given one of the drinks for free because of the confusion. That a resort would make amends for what was really a non-event was remarkable to me. Room was great. Beautiful golf course. Just top notch. (I have traveled a bit and stay at this type of resort.)

"Spring break getaway!"
Location was excellent -just a stroll to downtown Old Scottsdale. Accomodations &customer service good. Wine tasting everyday btw 5-6p was nice. Wish the pool was a little bigger. There was not as much sunny exposure at the pool-lots of shaded area. There could have been more waiters at the pool.

"Paradise"
This was my 2nd stay at this most amazing resort. It's hard to know where to begin to describe our 5 days at this hotel. It is so much more than a hotel. It's an experience that I hope to repeat soon. The service is what stands out the most. The surroundings are something to behold: the beautiful lobby with marble fountain, pool areas, outside dining, cactus gardens, golf course, restaurants, furnishings, stores and more. The spa was a dream. They cannot do enough for you. I felt totally spoiled and pampered during my entire stay.

"Pricey, but nice."
We stayed in one of the suites. I had been in the car with the kids all day and the space was wonderful. The grounds were lovely and well maintained. The pools were nice, not too big but there were several of them. Room service was reasonably priced and the main restaurant adequate.

"Resort hotel in Scottsdale"
The hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff was phenomenal (especially Andrea at the front desk and the bartender in the evenings (never got his name)). They were very accommodating - allowed us to use the resort before the room was ready (we landed at 8am) and let us stay all day after check-out to play tennis and relax by the pool. The pool was fantastic - salt water and 80 degrees. The tennis courts were in decent shape and free to use (we brought our own racquets). The room was great - much larger than expected and had a small kitchen w/ fridge to keep supplies. The only complaint was the mattress was too firm for my liking. We will be back and look forward to staying here again.

"Vastly superior to local hotels"
We had a wonderful stay here. The rooms are very large and the location excellent. The bathrooms are huge, the beds comfortable, and the staff superb. The kitchenette was well stocked with high-quality dishware. The only possible gripe is that the restaurant inside the facility is not great. But that's a small problem with so many great restaurants nearby. The pool is huge, too!

"Consistently wonderful"
I've stayed at this Hyatt over 10 times -- I've tried other hotels in the area, but none match up to all of the activities/offerings, the superb staff/service and the beautiful grounds of the Hyatt @ Gainey. The pool is gorgeous, the staff is amazingly accommodating, and it's nice to be a bit removed from the old town Scottsdale scene. I love that they provide free wifi and bikes without hassle. Yes, there is a $25/day hotel charge not included in the rate, but I'd pay it over and over again for this level of service. I highly recommend.

"Nice hotel, big rooms, clean."
We went here mainly because we have young children and only wanted to travel so far to reach the sun. The hotel was very nice and the resort grounds were big enough that you could go for a half hour walk in the evenings. The pools were really nice. Even during spring break the pools were big enough that it never felt overly busy. Only negative was because my son was 37inches tall (instead of 36) they wouldn't let me accompany him down the water slide. Of course given that he was two years old he was terrified to go down by himself. I'm not sure what difference it makes but I didn't argue about it and we enjoyed the rest of the pool. Rooms were kept very clean and well stocked with supplies. Staff were friendly and there were good restaurants on site. Also amenities like grocery stores were very close. Lastly they were never too pushy about their owner program.
