I have stayed in this hotel several times and never had a bad experience. The only thing I'm experiencing now is non smoking rooms are starting to have a smoke smell to them. Maybe to combat that problem is put the smoking rooms at the top floors since smoke rises. That way the lower floors would have a better chance of staying smoke smell free. Just a suggestion. It is still a good place to stay the staff is very friendly and helpful. The continental b-fast is good

Pros: The comfortable room
Cons: Unfriendliness of person at the desk.
Location: Great location for Clarks Summit, Scranton, Dunmore
The man who was at the desk when I arrived just looked up from his paper. He did not greet me; just looked. I told him my name and that I had a reservation. When he gave me the "keys", he explained the location, but spoke too fast. When I asked him to repeat, he seemed annoyed. However, he was the only "fly" in the ointment. Everything else was fine.

Bad hotel

The room was smelly (like mildew), the carpet looked dirty, there was a cigarette burn in one of the bedspreads that was the size of a quarter. We were afraid to even take a shower. Breakfast was served in the lobby - we passed on that since the smoke from smokers was drifting through the lobby. Very small, very cramped, and very over priced. Very poor pick for what I would expect from Hotels.com.

There was a very strong cleaning odor in the room that did not go away even after having the AC on high all night. They need to use scent free cleaning products.

Tired property but convenient location

While the staff was friendly and the free breakfast was palatable, this hotel is worn and tired-looking. I picked it solely on location becuase I wanted to be close to where I needed to be in the morning. Room also smelled smoky even though I had a non-smoking room. In the morning I figured out why--my room was next to the stairwell where people obviously smoked. Luckily I won't be needing to go back to this area again,
