Lovely SettingPosted Jul 11, 2014
Having arrived around 8 in the evening the person on the front desk was not very informative about any of the hotel amenities, no information given re breakfast, pool etc. However the next morning the people on the front desk were extremely helpful. The breakfast was very good as well. The room was large and very comfortable and inviting. The Wi Fi kept cutting in and out and every time you left the wi fi for even a minute we needed to re confirm our acceptance of the terms of the wi fi, Overall a great place to stay.

One night stayPosted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: The pool area is nice with sliding doors that open to a patio that you can sit out on. Our room was spacious and clean.
Cons: There were 4 of us in a room and we only had 3 bath towels so we just asked for another towel.
Location: There is a grocery store and a liquor store across the street. Close to fast food restaurants.
The staff was friendly and they recommended a great restaurant for dinner.

The gym equipment not working and no towelsPosted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Location was good
Felt we did not get a response when we questioned the issue with the poor gym and lack of towels. During their breakfast they kept running out of food and we had to wait around for them to stock up again. We had stayed here before and felt things were better then. Not a positive experience this time

Needs a spruce up-----Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The hotel was convienient for us as we were visiting family in the area.
We stayed at this hotel several years ago when attending a wedding at this hotel. All was fine at that time. Today the hotel needs to be updated. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The pillows definitely need to be replaced. They are foam bed pillows and are small. One is not enough and two was too many. Come on people.....this should be an easy fix. Our room was on the second floor and the night we checked in there was a mattress leaning up against the wall at the other end of the hallway. It remained there until the next day. Very unsightly.

Very large rooms, comfortable accomodationsPosted Jun 11, 2014
We were surprised by the size and comfort level of the rooms. Included balcony overlooking courtyard, inside pool area. Pool was very nice and not crowded. Surprisingly nice!

We have stayed at Nichols several times over the years. Couple of comments. Breakfast area couldn't keep up with the morning rush. It seemed that a couple of groups traveling together met for breakfast. No place to sit. Food items cleaned out. TV is not hd, so on the flat screen 16/9 everybody is squeezed down and clearly analog quality. For goodness sake upgrade your TV system to something half way modern! The beds in our room were worn out spring mattresses NO one would still have in their house. Couple of areas where some upgrades are needed.

Fine, with some quibblesPosted May 8, 2014
Pros: The room was clean, comfortable, and pleasantly decorated, and the staff were friendly.
Cons: Nichols Village is the top of the line in Clarks Summit, not an Econolodge. The desk chair and toilet lid should have been fixed before we got there.
Everything was fine, except: 1) the lever to raise the desk chair did not work. We called the front desk and the chair was replaced. 2) my wife cut her finger on the toilet lid, which was chipped. We reported it to the front desk when we left. 3) the breakfast is mediocre. The scrambled eggs were prefab spongey disks, the waffle maker was not working, and the breads and pastries were run of the mill.
