Lovely hotel, incredible Jacuzzi room

Posted Apr 29, 2015
This was a lovely surprise, the parking was incredibly busy the night we arrived so it was difficult to find parking; but the hotel has a gorgeous indoor pool and a STUNNING indoor Jacuzzi room almost larger than the pool itself, that you can actually swim in. My kids loved it, and then the breakfast included with the hotel is served by one of the two restaurants attached to the hotel - my kids said it was the best hotel breakfast they'd ever had. Also LOVED the view of the waterfalls and creek from the deck off the restaurant - the entire hotel seems to have been built into the cliff-side and almost curves around the creek - very interesting. Very comfortable room, included a fridge and microwave. The only thing I missed was a bathtub, but the Jacuzzi pool made up for it!

Misleading on website

Posted Apr 25, 2015
Pros: Dog friendly, nice pool, staff pleasant and helpful
Cons: Seriously, that room was tiny. I felt like I was in a ships cabin. At least let visitors know that the are designed for Lilliputians.
Location: The casino is apparently the big draw. I was thinking of more of a hiking place, it is not that at all. The area is anyplace suburban US.
Lovely hosts, hotel is not nearly as remote as implied on the website and the room we had was really, REALLY small. In house restaurants are convenient and okay.

Great weekend getaway!

Posted Apr 21, 2015
I must say I really enjoyed my stay at the Woodlands. I came with my boyfriend for our 4 year anniversary and to just relax! Everything we needed was in the hotel and we did not have to leave for anything. I HIGHLY recommended eating sushi at Shogun, catch it during their happy hour! It is AMAZING! We could not get over how good chicken tempora rolls were! Being able to sit and dine outside was a huge plus and it was beautiful! The night club was also so much fun on Saturday night and the drink specials were only $1!!! We wanted to go hiking so we googled places around and found 7 tubs natural park or recreation area only 6 minutes away! An absolute must see if you are ever near here the waterfalls are gorgeous! The outdoor pool was closed and so was the SkyVu bar outside but I could imagine how awesome it is in the summer. We will be coming back for sure! Our room was also very clean and the king size bed was so comfy!

Nice hotel for the price

Posted Apr 6, 2015
It is a very nice hotel for the price you pay. It has many amenities and the convenience of the restaurants/bar/club on site. Pool and jacuzzi are nice but can use some update. Overall pros: pool, jacuzzi, restaurants, staff, bathroom cleaness and price. Overall cons: breakfast it's only complementary during the week, should be listed on the website that no weekend breakfast is included. I requested a king size bed and instead I got 2 full size beds (did not go to front desk to request a room change), it is supposed to be a smoke free hotel and still it smells like smoke on certain areas. If you are staying more than a night do not expect to have the carpet vacuumed during your stay. Electricity was out for about 4 hours and we did not get any explanation as of the reason. If you want to go to the clubs at the hotel you have to pay to get in, even if you are a guest at the hotel. And expect to be asked for your ID every single time you want to get a drink. Overall we had a good time but there is plenty of room for improvement.

Excellent resort with jaccuzi, indoor outdoor pool, restaurants, bar, spa.On Fridays and Saturdays there are local bands playing with happy hour running. The resort is by a water stream, so don't miss the view. Overall, a great getaway place.

Nice place for couples

Posted Mar 26, 2015
Pros: Staff has been excellent every time we have stayed here.
Location: Free shuttle to Mohegan Sun casino.
We have stayed here a few times. The staff is excellent and the restaurant and bars are perfect if you don't want to venture out. The breakfast buffet is much better than any chain hotel.
