"Bed and Breakfast (without breakfast)"
The Gilbert Inn is a charming place stay, and close to the beach. We hoped for a little better view of the ocean, but we had just a peek. The staff seemed to hide in their back room a little bit, I don't think we ever saw them at the front desk, but that's ok. It made it feel like we were staying at Grandma's house while she is on vacation rather than being watched every time we made a move. There are no fridges or microwaves in the rooms, so we ended up wasting a lot of leftovers. The first day we were there,we were provided with 2 bottles water, some breakfast snacks and some taffy. That was a nice touch, but we stayed more than one day, and I felt like the room should have been totally refreshed every day as if we had checked out and back in, but all we got on our subsequent days was our bed made and our towels folded back up on the racks. Overall, we still enjoyed our stay. For the price,it wasn't a bad deal, but when you classify yourself as a "bed and breakfast", I expected just a little bit more from the staff. I didn't realize breakfast wouldn't be included until after we'd already booked the room, otherwise we would've chose somewhere else.

Only stayed for one night however, felt like I was there longer because of the "home feel" vibe. Great location and convenient supplies provided for your stay. Definitely going to come back in the future. Only four rooms available so book them early.

Absolutely loved our stay at The Inn at the Prom. The convenience of being right on the promenade was wonderful. Our room was very clean, excellent maid service, and everything we needed was available to us. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

"It was a really nice property w/ great amenities."
Needed some sunshine, went previously decided to go again. Was sad to loose an hour due to daylight saving, but it was still good. They ask guest to check 1-2 hours early for a restaurant voucher for $10-20. We wasn't going to take off then we decided what the heck, and took them up on the offer. It felt a little weard leaving early, since we had planned to stay till check-out. It made you feel like they wanted you out asap (kinda un-welcomed).

"Nice small hotel close to downtown Seaside"
This hotel is NOT walking distance to Cannon Beach. I made that mistake while looking for a hotel that's cheaper and not booked for memorial weekend. It's close to Seaside Beach and downtown seaside where you can stroll to shops and restaurants. It's 7miles away from cannon beach, not bad. So we just drove down there a couple times to see the haystack rock. The hotel room itself is pretty and updated. Clean and has enough supplies, even utensils and butter in the fridge. Staff was friendly, check in and out process was quick. My only complaint is the terrible noise that we hear when people go up the stairs because we are next to the staircase. Dont get the Tillamook room. I wish there is something the management can do about this. It's this one thing that will make me not go back to this Inn.

"Central location, great value, AMAZING service"
We selected this hotel on a whim because it was reasonably priced and the reviews suggested it was worth the extra money over the bare bones options down the road. I'm SO glad we chose it! The location was unbeatable-- just a block off the main street in Seaside-- a 2 minute walk to the beach and all of the cute shops and restaurants in town. The rooms were nothing special but very clean and comfortable, and the beds were amazing. It could be a bit noisy at times (thin walls) but that was our only complaint. The service is what really made this experience for us. Every staff person we interacted with (including the owner) was incredibly welcoming and went out of his/her way to make us comfortable and feel at home. We were given a "tour" of the grounds when we checked in (which included the "coldest Pepsi machine in Oregon" along with a private sauna), drinks and snacks were available all day in the lobby (including hot chocolate-- huge plus in my book), and they had an incredible collection of DVDs that you could borrow at any time. All in all, we had a great experience at Hillcrest and would highly recommend it. It's not super luxurious, but if you're looking for a centrally located option that is quaint and comfortable, you can't get better than this for the money.
