Up on the hill at Frye Art Museum

Posted May 25, 2015
Pros: Great old building, nice personnel, close to Frye Art gallery and St. James Cathedral. Reasonably priced. Very nice bedding.
Cons: Bathroom window was drafty - there is no fan system; less pillows on the bed please. We felt that we had to pay for drink to sit at fireplace.
Location: Way up the hill - good for the exercise; close to Art museum and Cathedral. Quite away from the Market and the Shopping District.
It was nice to feel a real brick masonry surround - the sleep was great! Maybe too many pillows on the bed and drafty window in the bathroom to substitute air conditioner; but nothing beat this authenticity of the old building. A real treat!

Great hotel with character

Posted May 24, 2015
Pros: Staff and comfort of bed.
Cons: The elevator is tiny so it's always a longish wait. This time I was on the 2nd floor so was able to use the stairs (but got more street noise).
Location: Lots of medical facilities, but also eating places etc. Walkable distance to the centre (but uphill on return).
This is now my hotel of choice for Seattle. It's NOT central but I think that's reflected in the price. The beds are very comfortable with white bedding (no yucky bedspreads) and the bathrooms are also pristine. There's some external noise but it's a city hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful, and I've always managed to get an early check in. My only complaint this stay was that one day my room wasn't cleaned even though I was out from 9.30 til 3.00 but when I pointed this out, they offered to send someone up immediately. However I wanted to just chill out so I made my bed myself and 'made do' (not a big deal).

Great Old Hotel

Posted May 20, 2015
Pros: Loved the old tradition and the staff was there whenever we needed something.
Cons: Because of it age, there is but one elevator and its European small. We spend a fair amount of time waiting for it. Met some nice people though.
Location: Just east of downtown core, it's a nice walk to the action.
The Sorrento is a Seattle original. Located just east of the downtown core, it's off the beaten path but an easy walk to the action. The property reeks of history and is well decorated. We had our Labrador with us and they couldn't have been more accommodating. Good near by walks for her also.

Close to the hospital we had an appointment at.

Posted May 15, 2015
Pros: It was old fashioned, yet had all the modern amenities that we could want. It was a very comfortable room.
Very, Very friendly, helpful staff. My husband had to go to the emergency room and we ended up staying longer than we planned. The staff was very understanding and held our room for us past check out time, and offered to do anything in their power to help us out.

Historic hotel on a hill.

Posted May 10, 2015
Pros: The historic hotel is quiet, safe, and well cared for. It is within walking distance of downtown Seattle, including the Market and Pioneer Square.
Location: Capitol Hill and downtown Seattle are accessible by foot, bus or taxi. Walkers should be prepared for some rather long and steep hills.
We had a pleasant five-day stay. Our room was surprisingly larger than expected. We actually had quite a bit of room to walk about. This was not the case in an earlier stay where the bed took up most of the space. The bathroom was well lighted and though small it had enough shelving to store my wife's toiletries. The hotel's lounge is a popular, attractive, and usually quiet place to relax for an hour or so after a busy day.

Seattle Weekend

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: They did improvements in the lobby, bringing back the original wood floors apparently, and it is a wonderful space.
Cons: Our room seemed noisier than on earlier visits -- mainly the sound of large trucks going uphill on Madison.
Location: Great location, lots of great stuff nearby.
We've stayed at the Sorrento several times over the years. Booked the suite this time and enjoyed the added room.

Incredible gem of a hotel not to be missed.

Posted Apr 26, 2015
Pros: The room, the comfort, the restaurant and bar, the location, and the service.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Downtown and Pike Place is nearby.
This was the most incredible hotel I have ever stayed at in Seattle. The décor of the hotel is classic and very comfortable. The bar and restaurant are wonderful, and I love the mixologist at the bar and the fireplace. The live entertainment was incredible. The room is so comfortable and clean and the bed was simply lovely. Definitely a must stay.
