Reasonable rates, comfortable, great staffPosted May 21, 2015
Pros: Staff very helpful.
Cons: Easy chairs in room.
Location: buses can take you anywhere in Seattle for $1 for seniors if you can get good bus information.
Hotel is old. Didn't have some modern hotel items, microwave, frig, lots of room. Did have great staff, inexpensive room service, easy access to buses to downtown and the Seattle area. Great place for older visitors.

Met my expectations.Posted May 20, 2015
The hotel was clean, comfortable and close to where I needed to be. Staff were helpful. My only comment was I found the room dark - a minor issue since I wasn't in it much. Didn't try the room service, but the menu looked good and prices were reasonable. I'd stay there again.

Clean and affordablePosted May 12, 2015
Pros: Good value for the money. Rates for other hotels in Seattle are outrageous. I also liked the view from the rooftop garden.
Cons: The hallway was pretty dark and outdated. It could be spruced up. I think it would also still be safe if the windows could open just a little more.
Location: Some small, but decent restaurants nearby, but they seemed to close early. The hotel did have room service available. Tons of things to do in Seattle
The hotel is an old building and the initial impression was that I might have made a poor choice. However, the staff was very friendly and my room was modern and very clean and comfortable. My room faced away from the street so it was quiet. Of note, the emergency room entrance for Virginia Mason Hospital is right by the hotel so sirens may be an issue. Bring ear plugs or request the north side of the hotel. Also, there is no AC and the window only opens about 5 inches. I stayed in May so this was no problem. Customers who need to stay cool, should probably stay elsewhere in July and August. On the plus side, it was just a $7 cab ride to the Pike Street Market, and the hotel was close enough that I actually walked back up the hills to it. I am almost 60, but I am fit. Bottom line, the hotel is not quite downtown, but it is really close. I'd stay there again.

Just wish we knew about them before....Posted May 7, 2015
Pros: cleanliness, kind staff, close to where we needed to be, great room service and timely arrival of it!
Location: We needed to see a specialist at Swedish and it was JUST around the corner.
we are from out of state and needed to be close to where my husband was being treated. We stayed at one hotel that was highly priced. One other was too cold and small, hard beds & pillows...just lacked iron bars on window, it was so BAD...... BUT when we were told about The Inn at Virginia Mason...we were so pleased...with the cleanliness, comfort, kind staff, very reasonable room service prices.....> EVER!! Great food, kind staff...and list could go on and on and on.....I wish we'd known earlier so we could have spent all our hotel days there instead of what we had to do! Thank You for our wonderful stay at our Inn!!! AND if we ever have to return, we now KNOW where to go!

Excellent Location ... good cafeteria next doorPosted Apr 26, 2015
Pros: Bed and front desk staff ... especially Daniel
Cons: The internet and some kind of breakfast in the lobby.
Location: Very walkable to downtown and to the Convention Center
The staff at the front desk was awesome ... especially Daniel. The wireless internet needs a lot of work. It did not work well at all. Also there was no breakfast down in the lobby. The kitchen has been out of business for nearly a year. This is unacceptable. The bed was very comfortable and housekeeping staff we prompt and very good.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights (Sunday & Monday) to attend an event in Downtown Seattle. We found it to be very charming. We loved how close it is to walking Downtown. It only took 10 minutes and was all down hill. Now coming back was more difficult - all up hill, but great exercise! We landed at Sea/Tac Airport, took the light rail ($3.00 each), got off on the University Street Terminal, walked outside and there was a cab as I was not about to haul 3 suitcases uphill! The cab fare was only $6.00. The hotel is also connected by an elevator to the Virginia Mason Hospital which has a great, inexpensive cafeteria. Our room was large and a lot of windows with natural sunlight (yes, it was sunny our 2 days!). There is also a security system in place so in the late evening people cannot just wander into the hotel. The staff was very friendly and nice. This Hotel is also in a neighborhood which made it feel like you were at home rather than downtown in a large City. Great little restaurants in the area as well. We would highly recommend this Hotel if you like an older, charming building.

On the night before surgeryPosted Apr 22, 2015
The front desk staff was courteous and friendly. The lobby was pleasant. It's a very old property with a lot of charm. The beds were super comfortable! We really enjoyed the rooftop sitting and city view!

If you want original, comfortable, glass door handles and affordable, reserve a night at The Inn at Virginia Mason. If you want marble, stainless steel, snooty and expensive, go to the dozen hotels on the west side of I-5.
