“Quiet & Cool”
This place was conveniently located in downtown, had nice modern decor and was really quiet compared to other nearby hotels in the city. Would definately recommend, especially to younger adults (decor).
“Great Staycation for a Local”
The hotel is super modern and trendy and it was a lot of fun to stay there for a night. The bar has a great happy hour and the price of the hotel was quite affordable compared to other hotels in the area. The rooms are a bit small, more of a European feel, but who needs huge rooms?
“Great boutique hotel in a central location”
I really enjoyed the convenient location of the Hotel Max. I was able to walk anywhere I wanted to go in the downtown area of the city, as well as Capitol Hill. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, and the design of the hotel was fun and well-done. The only complaints I have about the hotel is that my room was small, and there is no central heating/air conditioning. The window unit that provides heating and cooling was a bit loud. When it comes down to it, I'm rarely in my hotel room when I travel, so the Hotel Max worked perfectly for me, but if you're the type that likes to lounge in your room and watch TV for some down time, you'll probably want to consider another hotel.
“Artistic hotel in good location”
This hip hotel is located conveniently near Westlake station and the monorail terminal which takes you to the space needle. We found Seattle relatively small anyway, and it was no problem walking to pike place market or space needle from the hotel. Yes, the rooms are small (queen: 190-230 sq. ft / 18-21 sq. m). They say that they have many different room layouts. We didn't carry excessive baggage with us, so this wasn't really an issue. The room was clean and the bed was really comfy. They have different pillows available you could order to your room. Staff in the lobby was very friendly, but couldn't give us proficient information about the usual tourist questions. The price was also a bit high, especially considering the small room. But it was a pleasant stay, so we can't really complain and would stay there again any time.
“love this hotel”
it has a perfect location in downtown Seattle. Within two blocks, we could get to Nordstrom, Macy's and Westlake center. Safe neighborhood and a comfort room(Artist King). Want to visit again.
“Hip but not hip”
The location of this hotel is fantastic and the staff very good but the the rooms are small and you can barely turn around in the bathroom. We had two rooms and both were the same. The A/C/Heat unit was loud and didn't circulate the air at all. The hallways smell like cigarette smoke and we all left with stuffy heads.
“Good value”
Quaint and room decor was quirky which we liked. We received an upgrade even without asking. Would stay again.
“Great location and close to light rail service to airport”
I'd recommend this hotel because of the location to downtown, shopping, and light rail. Room was clean, furnished nicely in a "hip" modern style, and was adequate despite the very small room and bathroom. My only complaint is the noisy in-window type heater/air conditioner.
“Great Boutique Hotel”
I prefer to stay in boutique hotels rather than major chains, and Hotel Max met my expectations. Beautifully redone, featuring work from local artists. Excellent furnishings. The rooms are very small but this goes with the category. Fantastic location, proximate to everything in downtown Seattle.
“Good value for the price and the neighborhood”
I have stayed here twice, and each time the hotel staff has been excellent - nice, friendly, helpful. The rooms are very small, but they have everything you need for a quick efficient business trip. The Japanese restaurant attached by a common door has two happy hours (early and late) and the sushi and the restaurant are both wonderful. Also - their staff is friendly and welcoming and helpful. You'll be walking distance to the convention center, to downtown shopping, to much of Seattle's best. For the price, which is always reasonable, this is a decent value. It isn't fancy but it is a cut above average, and I will both return and recommend it.
