Great Location, Excellent Hosptality

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: location, style, friendly staff
Cons: The size of the room, it was too small
Location: Suite 410 is a great little bar that is only a block away
This is a super cute boutique hotel that has a lot of style. The hotel staff is very helpful, accommodating, and gives great recommendations. The location is great, and very walkable to anything in the city. The bed was very comfortable. The attached restaurant and bar is fabulous. The only thing I would change is the size of the room, it was too small.

THE Hotel for the alternative crowd

Posted Oct 16, 2014
Pros: The little touches, free WIFI, the bath robes, the art work, the staff, the alternative "do not disturb" signs, the decor...
Cons: I've noticed quite a lot of people mention room size. The size is typical of even high-end European hotels, so welcome to reality. The size is fine.
Location: Everything! Right in the heart of Downtown. Unbeatable location.
I love this hotel, even with all the quirks and unexpected things that a more modern hotel would have overcome, like faster elevators, slightly larger rooms, perhaps a quieter surrounding. But all of these things are very minor when taken in context. Everything is clean and spotless, the decoration and artwork are very interesting and alternative, and the many, many little thoughtful touches are amazing. By way of examples: including an "intimacy kit" as a purchasable item in the room, including a spirituality menu where you dial up room service and they'll bring you a copy of virtually any of the major spiritual texts (Bible, Koran, Scientology, Bagavat Gita, Book of Mormon, etc.). As a non-believer I would have liked an option for that too (Origin of Species? Walden? God is Not Great?) but most people don't rent hotel rooms to read books (sorry Gideon). The location is fabulous; walking distance to everything, including and especially Pike's Market. The rooms are smallish, but since I'm only there to sleep and brush my teeth, within reason, room size is irrelevant. The air conditioner is a bit noisy, but the easier thing to do is crack open the window for a bit of fresh air at night. The restaurant downstairs is amazing, and the dinner was top notch, as is the wine list. Don't miss the corned beef for breakfast, really, really fabulous and memorable, the best I've ever had. In short, book this hotel, you will not regret it. It exudes funk in a sophisticated way

The staff was polite and welcoming. The room was small, not very clean and the finishes were below standard for the price of the room.

Hello there! Thank you for choosing the Max on your recent trip to Seattle. While I'm happy to hear you found our Front Desk team polite and welcoming I'm sorry to hear that you didn't feel the room was clean. This is highly unusual and again I'm sorry that we didn't meet your expectations. I've shared your feedback with our Housekeeping team to ensure that they are practicing proper cleaning standards. Again, thank you for staying with us and we wish you safe travels on your future adventures. Regards, Kevin Scott General Manager

Great hotel, great location!

Posted Oct 15, 2014
The staff, and the hotel were excellent! Had a issue with the shower, but the staff took care of it by upgrading our room. The location is perfect, as it is walking distance to everywhere from Pioneer Square to Pike Place, to Belltown, to the Stadiums. Can't wait to visit The Max again!

Staff make this place great!

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: Staff!
Cons: Privacy Window Sheer, something besides the roller shade.
Nice stay for the price. The staff was so helpful and really went the extra mile to make sure that I was comfortable and that needs were met. The room itself was nice and clean. The room is very small as is the bathroom, but again, clean and well decorated. I do wish there would of been a privacy sheer on the window as they have just roller shades and neighboring buildings can see directly into the room. The appearance in the lobby is a tough first impression, furniture is obviously trashed, discolored and past its prime. The space could use a significant uplift. Room Service prices were very high, I ordered a burger with no beverage and with the 18% gratuity fee was just over $25 and with a 50 minute wait. I would stay there again for the price I paid.

Good hotel, great location

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: The staff, the location and the decor
Cons: Put refrigerators in the rooms and make curb parking more visable
Location: Pikes Market, Seattle waterfront, Pacific Center, Seattle Art Museum and numerous restaurants within easy walking distance.
Good experience in downtown Seattle. This is a boutique hotel with lots of original art work throughout the hotel and in the rooms. The staff is exceptionally helpful. The rooms are very small and do not have a refrigerator other than in room drinks for purchase. We had a corner room which had large windows on two sides which gave us a great view of the city. The location is excellent for Pikes Market, shopping, restaurants and movies. The Seattle Art Museum is walking distance. They also provide umbrellas in case of rain.

Nice hotel in downtown. Close to Pikes Market.

Posted Oct 12, 2014
Close to Pikes Market, and all of downtown Seattle. Great if you want to walk or if you want a short cab ride. Rooms were clean, and well taken care of. Elevators are Italian style. So if you are claustrophobic this is not you're place. Five people max. Staff was very helpful and willing to help.
