My stay

Posted Apr 6, 2014
The hotel has a good location and the staff is really great. Everything was stress free. My only issue is the $39 for valet parking. Seems steep for a paying customer. Overall great though.

Hotel Monaco falls short on wi fi

Posted Apr 4, 2014
Pros: Location in downtown Seattle
Cons: Wi fi needs to be provided free of charge and without trying to coerce the customer into signing up to its hotel consortium.
The Seattle Hotel Monaco insistst that in order for patrons to have access to free wifi that it sign up to its parent (umbrella) hotel organization. This means you share your email and other details so you will be on its marketing list and subject to all marketing emails from the consortium and affiliates. The Monaco's rationale for their requirement is that "all hotels are going this now." As an experienced global traveler due to my work, I know this is patently false. WiFi is almost always provided free of charge now at top of the line hotels in Europe, Pacific Rim and N.A. Ultimately as I pushed back, the Monaco desk clerk provided me the access code for 'free wi fi' but said it was an exception. Due to this experience, I am not inclined to return to the Monaco and wage this 'free wi fi battle'. There are too many other quality hotels I can choose from who provide wi fi as a normal benefit..

Nice hotel right in the downtown Seattle area!

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: 1. Helpful, informative staff. 2. Pet friendly 3. Great downtown location. 4. Clean and well appointed
Cons: Less eclectic dining options.
Location: Great location , pretty much close to everything.
Well appointed hotel in the downtown Seattle area. close the shopping, Washington State Convention Center and a bevy of restaurants for any eaters tastes. The restaurant associated with the hotel, Sazerac was a little too eclectic for the general diner and even though they touted a gluten free menu, they did not have one available due to a recent menu revamp. We only elected to eat there once, and that was only because we had coupons from the hotel for conserving resources by declining housekeeping services. This was a nice perk though, I don't like people in my room in the first place and for a few day stay it was a nice option for us. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful though, and the wine hour in the late afternoon was a very nice touch. They also had a lovely coffee service in the morning, but if you missed that there is a Starbucks right next door. Wonderful to see such a pet friendly hotel also. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Lovely Hotel for my trip with BFFs

Posted Mar 26, 2014
Location: Super convenience location, walking distance to major attractions like the great wheel and the pike place market.
First impression was the exquisite lobby, small yet very cozy. My friends and I love it. We had a small double queen room. Very clean and comfortable. Definitely recommended. They also have complementary coffee service in the morning and wine service in the afternoon.

nice place to stay with a great central location

Posted Mar 25, 2014
Location: Lots - three blocks to downtown shopping, great restaurants within 5 minutes walk, waterfront no more than 3 blocks away , seattle symphony 2 blocks
Stayed for a weekend getaway - focused on walking, shopping and dining. We arrived at 3 but our room was not yet ready.. bit annoying but we found some happy hours within 2 blocks and that made up for it.. The happy hour / wine reception at the hotel lobby was very nice each night. Hotel is nice, staff friendly and helpful, good value overall

The hotel has a nice lobby, good service, and decent food. The rooms themselves are adequate, nothing special.

I love this hotel, but be careful with the room service. Coffee is $14 - in Seattle!

Weekend Getaway

Posted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Close to shopping, restaurants. The hotel restaurant had good food.
Location: Shopping, Seattle Public Library, restaurants.
The hotel is GREAT. The staff were very friendly and informative. They gave advice on things to do in downtown. Wine happy hour is a plus. The rooms were very clean and comfy. Valet parking was maybe about 30 bucks a day so that was the only downside. I would definitely stay here again.
