Tasteful classic hotel

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: The hotel was calm and we felt comfortable and relaxed. The restaurant has nice food
Cons: no tea and coffee in the room but they offered to bring a coffee maker to the room for us. The hair dryer didn't work and had to be replaced.
Location: The hotel is in the business district but it isn't difficult to wander down the hill to Pike Place market which is fantastic.
The hotel is lovely and a bit old - world American in style. It has been renovated recently. The room was not huge but big enough. It was very clean, had lovely toiletries, had lovely decor and the bed was very comfortable. Beware of hitting your legs on the end of the bed which is very chunky. I ended up with huge bruises on both legs. The room was beautiful in decor but bad in design. The bathroom is right near the head of the bed so you can hear everything. We found the reception staff were very helpful and so were the men on the door who organised the luggage etc. Matt was the one who assisted us initially and he was very pleasant. One staff member deserves a special mention-Dee, the African American male staff member who was the most switched on, organised, and customer-focused, person there. He couldn't do enough to assist, whether it was getting a cab, offering information or helping with luggage. He really threw himself into his job and was so quick and knowledgeable.

Perfectly fine but worst of the Kimptons.

I guess what bothered me was that they use the "Vintage" motif as an excuse for no electrical outlets where you need them and lousey bathroom fixtures. No turndown service, no complimentary water in a $600 room? Hmmm. Pretty noisey from the nearby freeway. Very friendly staff.

Good location, pleasant staff, small rooms

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: friendly staff, clean and quiet accommodations.
Cons: The room, and bathroom, are somewhat small, considering the upscale price.
Location: Pioneer square area, and waterfront area, are within reasonable walking distance.
This is a good hotel for visiting downtown Seattle. It has been recently refurbished.

Great room, terrible service

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Great room
Cons: Customer service
Location: Great location, heart of Downtown
Staff was generally rude and not very helpful. Called room service for towels and they told me to call housekeeping. Are you serious? I paid $400 for the room, how about you take care of it for me. Asked the receptionist for a cab and he gave the type of look that said call one yourself.

very nice friendly hotel, but...

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Very pretty, good location, very sophisticated. The staff was top notch.
Cons: as stated above
Location: Very central location, close to Pike's Place Market and the beautiful Seattle Library.
Great staff, beautiful hotel, no problems in this regard at all. But, I have to comment on the charge for WiFi. We have been on a long road trip and stayed in many hotels both expensive and very simple, and ALL of them provided free wifi except this one. It's just is a bit irritating since there is also a $40 fee per night for parking. So, the hotel really ends up being quite a bit more expensive than expected. I think they should get with the times on this issue, it's just a basic service that all other hotels provide as a courtesy.

I'm here for a conference for 4 nights. The room is nice for a single person. Not much specific to say. I will recommend this place to accommodate for short period, but there is no interesting or impressing part. They have wine happy hour but I don't drink alcohol so it doesn't apply to me. The dining place is good.

Great hotel! The staff is fantastic!

Posted Jun 4, 2014
Pros: The staff was fantastic. They took care of every need, including scheduling us a town car for our trip back to the airport, & printing boarding passes
Cons: The rooms were a little small.
Location: This hotel is 2 blocks from the Columbia Tower, kitty corner from the library, and only about 5 blocks from Pike Place Market.
My girls and I stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights. The location was terrific to walk downtown Seattle - close to Pike Place Market and the Ferris Wheel. Lots of restaurants close by, too. The room was very clean and comfortable, albeit a little on the small side. Would definitely go back!
