“Wonderful hotel, great location”
I highly recommend this charming hotel. The service was wonderful and the rooms were clean, spacious and had character. It's in a great location - within walking distance to the Space Needle, restaurants and the Music Project.
“Very nice!”
Our "room" was a suite with a full kitchen and an adorable little sitting room! Everything very nicely arranged, elegant but cozy. Very convenient restaurants and great grocery store nearby.
“MarQueen Hotel -- really an apartment!”
Imagine a hotel room you don't mind spending hours and hours in, even while awake! Lots of light, very high ceilings, hardwood floors, and so much space (about 2-3 times the size of a normal hotel room) that it feels like an apartment. It has an eat-in kitchen. The building itself is a bit old and the carpet (which is only in the hallways, not in the rooms) is a bit musty smelling... but the rooms are truly pleasant. They gave $10 coupons to use at a coffeeshop (attached to the hotel, but reachable from outside) for breakfast. The area in which the hotel is in is Queen Anne. Very nice area - you can walk to downtown, very close to the Seattle Center, and within two blocks of good cafes, movie theatre, excellent restaurants, a Safeway, etc. A very fun area to be in, and safe. By comparison, downtown isn't nearly as pleasant. Fee internet (wireless). On the negative side: the "fitness center" is on the street level and you're visible to people walking down the street.
“wonderful place”
This hotel is great. Although the building is old it is very charming and comfortable. Rooms are huge - ours was like a European apartment - had a small reading area separated from the bedroom and a pretty nice kitchen, stocked with snacks and soft drinks. The plae was quiet and the beds were nice. The hotel is in a more residential neighborhood (Queen Anne), close to theaters and Space Needle and a 30-minute walk to Pike Place market or downtown. We walked everywhere. There are lots of restaurants nearby and breakfast voucher for Cafe Ladro (on premises, great coffee) is included. We would love to come back again.
“Will definitely stay again!”
This hotel has it all! It's in a good location. We had a great view of downtown and the Space Needle from our room. The 15 bus stops right around the corner and goes everywhere we wanted to go. The hotel is so cute and nice. I wouldn't mind living in the room, with the cute kitchen. The people were very friendly and professional.
“Nice little hotel with great service”
The MarQueen is a historic hotel with lots of character. The service is outstanding and very personal. I loved the coffee shop adjacent to the first floor. The rooms are homey and very clean. I appreciated having a kitchenette. Kind of noisy at night if your room overlooks Queen Anne Ave. The location is perfect if you like walking.
“Longer Stays”
I would recomend, especially for longer stays. It was nice to have a sitting room and kitchen, especially at the price. It is an older building, but that is a big part of the cham. It is also located a short way from Seattle Center and about a 1.8 mile walk to Pike's Market, past the new sculpture garden and many small local resturants.
“Great Hotel”
This was an absolutely charming and wonderful hotel with exceptional service. The location is good. The rooms, even though built in 1918, are very well maintained. I am used to staying at one of the larger luxury chains. This was a fresh change.
“Delightful!”
The MarQueen was even better than hoped for. It's a lovely character hotel, with very gracious staff. We wanted lodging near the Victoria Clipper pier, and this suited us well; it is a short cab ride away, or a very manageable walk (through the Olympic Sculpture Garden, if you like.) Lots of space to stretch out in the airy and tastefully-decorated room, a very comfortable and stately king-size bed, a kitchen that is almost bigger than mine at home (if for some reason you grow tired of dining out in Seattle, the Metropolitan Market down the street has anything you could require for a meal in.) There are a variety of restaurants and bars within a block or two, plus Easy Street Records around the corner in which to lose yourself. And that's just Lower Queen Anne...at the top of the hill are a hundred more great shops and eateries, plus Kerry Park. It's also just a short walk to Seattle Center, if that's your thing. The MarQueen provides a perfectly adequate continental breakfast, and a wine reception on Thursday evenings. There is no elevator, but there are only two flights of elegant stairs, so it wasn't a problem for us. The tub was a little less updated than other aspects of the bathroom, but again, not a problem - just an observation. We were consistently pleased with the accomodations and service, and would stay there again in a heartbeat. IN A HEARTBEAT!!!!
“Tons of character”
Quaint old hotel with oodles character, near downtown but without the stale downtown-hotel feel. Room was huge and hotel staff was very helpful.
