The Inn at Virginia Mason

Posted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: see above
Cons: Have the café in the lobby finished
Location: see above
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights (Sunday & Monday) to attend an event in Downtown Seattle. We found it to be very charming. We loved how close it is to walking Downtown. It only took 10 minutes and was all down hill. Now coming back was more difficult - all up hill, but great exercise! We landed at Sea/Tac Airport, took the light rail ($3.00 each), got off on the University Street Terminal, walked outside and there was a cab as I was not about to haul 3 suitcases uphill! The cab fare was only $6.00. The hotel is also connected by an elevator to the Virginia Mason Hospital which has a great, inexpensive cafeteria. Our room was large and a lot of windows with natural sunlight (yes, it was sunny our 2 days!). There is also a security system in place so in the late evening people cannot just wander into the hotel. The staff was very friendly and nice. This Hotel is also in a neighborhood which made it feel like you were at home rather than downtown in a large City. Great little restaurants in the area as well. We would highly recommend this Hotel if you like an older, charming building.

On the night before surgery

The front desk staff was courteous and friendly. The lobby was pleasant. It's a very old property with a lot of charm. The beds were super comfortable! We really enjoyed the rooftop sitting and city view!

If you want original, comfortable, glass door handles and affordable, reserve a night at The Inn at Virginia Mason. If you want marble, stainless steel, snooty and expensive, go to the dozen hotels on the west side of I-5.

Disappointed

Only reason to stay here is convenient for hospital appointment. The rooms have no fridge and only one ice machine for two buildings

Unassuming, pleasant hotel

Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Staff, convenience, quiet.
Cons: Fire up the food service in the lobby!
Location: Washing State Convention Center, Pike Place, Waterfront, lots of stuff!
This is an old but pleasant, quiet, and clean hotel with courteous staff. The place feels a little forlorn, with a lobby clearly equipped to provide food and drink service, but everything is shuttered for some reason. The room was small but clean. Elevators are ancient and tiny. (I mostly took the stairs.) The price was fair, and the location is very nice, if you want to be close to the action in Seattle and don't mind trudging up and down the hill a few blocks to get there. I would happily return to this hotel. It's old and quirky, but convenient and quiet. Great place to get some work done while being close to the action.

Nice Hotel and convenient with friendly staff

Posted Mar 28, 2015
Pros: The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Having easy access to the hospital was a major benefit.
Cons: The coffee pot and supply of regular, not decaffeinated, coffee could be improved.
Location: Seems to be an active area with restaurants and clubs nearby and plenty of parking.
The staff was very helpful and informative. I was greeted with kind faces, smiles and respect. Seemed willing to go out of their way to assist if I needed it and they were very accommodating.

no parking lot, bad service, not clean, noice

Posted Mar 28, 2015
Pros: nothing
Cons: Service, cleanliness and parking lot
Location: nothing
No parking lot - I had to pay 25$ for parking fee. Elevator's to noisy...room's not too clean and smell really bad...
