Simply Horrible

I highly suggest to anyone that wants to stay at a hotel and not a motel to NOT stay here. The building has that old musty smell and needs a serious renovation. The restaurant was closed for "renovations" and there is only one ice machine on the lobby floor. The hotel rooms are super old and do not have a fridge and the bathroom has that I'm in a horror movie feel to it. The best part about our trip was that we did not stay in the hotel that much, pay the extra 50-70 bucks a night and stay at the Crowne Plaza or an extra 100 and stay at the Fairmont, it's worth it in the long run

Pros: Friendly staff, close to downtown without breaking the bank.
Cons: They will soon be opening a restaurant in the lobby. It could use it as the other closest place to eat is the hospital cafeteria (good btw).
Location: Within walking distance to downtown and Pike's market, Aquarium, and mass transit. Within walking distance of Seattle Center.
My wife and I recently visited Seattle on vacation. The hotel was nice and clean with a lot of character. Rooms were a very good size and the staff was very friendly.

ok hotel but too far to walk

Pros: Quiet location, helpful staff, clean, big rooms
Cons: air-conditioner, restaurant on site
Location: The hotel was close to a hospital but a little too far to walk to sightseeing venues.
the room was roomy and clean but too far from activities.. Needed to use taxis as the hill up to the hotel was very steep.. No restaurant in the building. No air-conditioner, needed to get a fan. It was a reasonable priced as compared to other rooms in downtown seattle.

Not a good place to stay

The Inn is not a hotel, but an old apartment building. When we checked in, the front desk put us in a room where the very old bath tub sink was broken, there were yellow residues around, and dirty shower head. Later they switched us to a different room, but the tub was still old and not clean. No air condition, we had to open the windows, but the windows opened to the backyard of the hospital. We couldn't get into sleep due to the constant noises from the hospital air vent facility. We are very disappointed comparing with all other hotels we stayed during our two week trip.

Good location

Pros: Charming, comfortable
Cons: Electrical outlets need updating - had trouble finding one that would work with blow dryer.
Location: In town for ball game - walkable distance from hotel to Safeco Field. Also to Pike Market.
Very satisfied - not modern, but clean and comfortable.

Great hotel for the price and location

Pros: The location.
Cons: Your rooms need air conditioning.
Both my husband and I were surprised with the Virginia Mason Inn. It was clean and very well kept for the age. It was centrally located. We walked to the Pike Place Market (although walking back was a challenge, but if we can do it at 63 years old most anyone else can do it). We also walked to the Skyview Conservatory and the Underground Tour. It also was centrally located because we could walk to the Link to go to a Mariners Baseball game and the Monorail to go to the Space Needle and Chihuly Art and Glass exhibit. And, of course, we walked back (uphill) all the way. There was no air conditioning, but the nights when we opened the windows (only about 4 inches each) it wasn't so bad. We were too busy sightseeing to be there much during the day.

Nice hotel and was cheap cab fare to Safeco field

Pros: Close to most everything downtown
Cons: The beds were small for the room size....take out some of the furniture and put queen beds in
Location: Safeco Field, Pikes Place Market and of course COWGIRLS nightclub ( a must see )
I did notice that the price went up during the major sporting event but then all hotels do that. Hotel was next to hospital emergency room which we never heard a siren inside the rooms. Parking is not free!!! Hotel is just fine for an overnight stay

Pros: Can't think of anything.
Cons: Refocus to market only to hospital visitors.
Location: The location is really only useful for someone making frequent visits to the hospital.
Far too hot and no air cooling as implied by information provided. Unless visiting at the nearby hospital, location poor. Poor facilities but the staff did their very best and were pleasant.

Good value hotel

Pros: Building was full of character. Entrance is cute
Cons: Bathrooms could be updated but not an issue
Location: Walking distance of harbour front, downtown and space needle.
Hotel was a little bit out of the centre but within easy walking distance. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was a little tired and in need of updating but not a huge issue.

Avoid this hotel if you have a choice

Was assigned a room with broken air vent.( their version of A/C) on the day we checked in. Front desk assured us that a fan will be delivered @ around 9yish PM and we waited til 12am. When we called front desk to check on the status, we were told there isn't any fan available. Also, we have made a reservation for 2 rooms for 2 nights, but all key cards were deactivated after staying there for a night. In general, customer service from this hotel was sub-par.
