“We came to the Westin to check out the beds.”
We are interested in buying a bed like the ones you have at the Westin. That was the reason we came to stay with you. It was very nice and we had a very good nights sleep. We really liked the early check-in and noon check out. The only downside of the stay was the waiter from the Coldwater restaurant was not very friendly to us. He did not seem to act the same with other customers. I asked him about one of the items on the menu and he was a bit sarcastic in his answer. There wasn't too many people in the dining room and that might be the reason why. We wouldn't go back. The casual breakfast that we got from the lobby deli was very nice the next morning.
“Excellence”
Extremely helpful staff, beautiful views and very convenient. Perfect location to go to the Hawks and then a short walk to Pikes Place. Will definitely stay here again!
“Thankgiving, parades and shopping...way to beat the traffic”
Thankgiving, parades and shopping...way to beat the traffic. We could see the parade from our hotel room while enjoying breakfast, the view was magnificent. We could shop and browse all around the hotel. Then head down to the waterfront for some great seafood.
“Perfect overnight stay.”
We had reservations to attend a show at Jazz Alley. The Westin was within walking distance and this was the main reason for selection of this hotel. It turned out to be a perfect choice. Everything was within walking distance: Pacific Place Mall offered good restaurants, shopping at Macy's and Nordstrom's Rack was close by, the monorail which took us to the Space Needle was within walking distance. The next morning we walked to Top Pot Donuts for yummy treats and great coffee. The hotel was clean, service was good, the room was big enought for a one night stay. Recommend it and would stay again!
“Tremendous location and will return”
I will be writing my comments on snail mail to GM
“Its a little older”
I stayed in several WestIns, this one is on the older side, i mean its just ok... it was clean, but i would not give it 4 stars, maybe 3.5.... location is great.
“Waterview Scam”
DO NOT PAY EXTRA for the deluxe waterview rooms. I have stayed at this hotel maybe 6 times before. It has a great location and I have almost always gotten a great view just by requesting so at check-in. The one time I bring my family and pay extra for this service, I get the very worst view I have ever seen from this hotel. The Westin Seattle is two cylindrical shaped towers that are about 6 blocks from the water, (Puget Sound), if you look towards the west with great views of the Olympic Mountain on the other side. So I figure I have at least a 50 percent chance of getting this view. Instead I got a room facing due East with a great view of the McDonalds across the street. If you turned your neck hard you could make out a sliver of a view of a lake farther northeast that was between 2 other high rise buildings. This is a nice hotel and I would stay here again but I would never ever pay extra for any deluxe waterviews that I might not get.
“Convenience and Comfort in Downtown Seattle”
If you're looking for a well-located and very comfortable hotel in downtown Seattle, this is a great choice. We took advantage of all the hotel had to offer and found all the services to be excellent. I would definitely stay there again on my next trip to Seattle whether for business or vacation.
“Recommendable!”
I would recommend this hotel if you are in Seattle either alone, as a couple, or as a family because of the safe area and the convenience of the location, however, the building itself is very old, and the noisiness in the corridor and the sound from next room was very annoying especially at night. That is the only point I regret about staying at Westin, Seattle this time. Other than that, environment-friendliness was very impressive that to decline changing the sheets and cleaning the room the next day gave me USD5.00 voucher, and that paid me next day's breakfast :) If you are in Seattle, I would recommend Westin to stay.
“The 4-rating is a bit generous”
Our first time in Seattle so we were looking forward to our trip. First thing we noticed was the lack of bellhops or doormen to help with luggage. We got no offer of assistance...even when we got to the front desk. Hotel room was right off the elevator, although that was the least of the evils. The view was surprisingly good from our standard room...albeit, we're not sure if an upgraded room would have been worth the extra as the rooms were situated around the circular shape of the tower so I'm sure most of the rooms had similar views. Bathroom was poorly lit and in desperate need of upgrades. To make matters worse, it was an adjoining room...and when the guys next door checked in at 4:30am, we woke to their voices due to the thin wall between these adjoining rooms. As with anything, you get what you pay for...but there are some things in life that are just worth the extra and a 5-star hotel would have been worth it to avoid this place. I travel for both work and leisure numerous times a year, and this hotel is definitely not the 4 stars it says it is. The only positive thing I can say about it is it's central location. It was a close walk to everything and the proximity to the monorail that leads to the Space Needle and the Center was good. Our favorite spots to eat near the hotel: Top Pot Doughnuts and Serious Pie.
