Great resort with wonderful quiet location

Posted Apr 1, 2015
Pros: Pool and poolside service was great. Our room was very clean and fairly quiet. The location couldn't have been better - so quiet.
Cons: At 4pm, we waited 1.5 hours (!!) for our room key. I have never waited that long for a room key. Valet could smile or chat with guests once in a while
Location: Shopping, Pink Jeep Tours, Dining, Sightseeing, Hiking, Swimming
The Amara is located down a long driveway, far away from the busy street above. This I liked very much! While we arrived at 4pm and had to wait 1.5 hours to get our room key, I did enjoy staying here and would not hesitate to come back. While we never ate at the Salt Rock for dinner, we did for breakfast and lunch. The menu at the Salt Rock is light, but their Huevos Rancheros for breakfast were SO good! It would be nice if they offered more than one breakfast item for kids, but we were happy that they at least offered a waffle. My favorite part about the Amara was their pool. It's not huge, but it the perfect size to take a quick dip or to sit around and meet new faces. There is also food and beverage service at the pool if you want to just hang around and enjoy being lazy. The view of Snoopy Rock and the adjacent rocks was nice too. At the end of the pool, there is a creek which had a narrow path to venture down. Gorgeous view from down there! The standard rooms are small; bed(s), desk and dresser. Our room had a "walk-in" closet that was almost larger than the bathroom. Very clean room and comfortable beds. Complimentary wine hour from 5-6pm nightly. My only gripe would be that the valet seemed a bit odd. Valet never chatted with us, even when we talked to them. Seemed a bit stuffy. Overall, I loved the location, pool, food and tranquility of this location.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. My apologies for the wait upon arrival, I know after a long day of traveling you just want to get settled and relax. We appreciate your patience and understanding. The courtyard, fire pits, and pool areas are guest favorites because of the spectacular views and often why they choose Sedona. Thank you for making SaltRock a part of your experience and chef appreciates the feedback. Service and genuine experiences is what we pride ourselves on here at the Amara. Pretentious is not our style…we like to have fun and we want our guests to have fun too. Thanks for sharing and we can’t wait until your next visit. Warm regards, Patrick Gaskin General Manager

Excellent Location and Wonderful Spa

Posted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: The view from our room was exceptional and the valet parking was a lovely surprise.
Cons: The restaurant menu - lunch and dinner.
Location: Location was ideal within walking distance to all shops.
The whirlpool bath tub was exceptional; modern and uptodate. The spa experience was exceptional. My facial was so refreshing and relaxing and their product line was high end. Excellent treatment.

The whole family enjoyed this resort. The creek in the back was a plus. The fire pits and the 5-6pm complimentary wine/non-alcoholic beverage was also great. Great view in the back as well. The

I love hearing we were a family favorite and a hit amongst everyone!!! The complimentary daily wine/social hour is always a favorite. Every opportunity to have to host is the best hour of my day and even week. Meeting incredible people and sharing Sedona adventures with a beverage is always a treat. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Warm regards, Patrick Gaskin General Manager

Over rated for the price

Posted Mar 29, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Dated
The hotel was ok but not worth the price we paid. We have stayed in a lot nicer hotels for less money they also charged a resort fee of 22 which we were not aware of when we booked

Thank you for sharing your feedback but disappointed to hear you did not enjoy your stay. The resort fee of $22 per day includes valet parking, daily yoga classes, access to the steam and relaxation rooms at the spa, as well as shuttle within a mile of the property. In addition, we have nightly complimentary wine hour from 5p-6p which is great fun and an opportunity to meet other guests. It is a highlight for many of our guests. Anniversary stay

Posted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: Amara is in a perfect spot for shopping and dining. Beautiful views.
Cons: The mattress was not comfy. Very stiff
We had our wedding at Amara in 2005 and decided to celebrate our 10 year here. There have been major upgrades in the last 10 years to this property.

Beautiful hotel, great location

Posted Mar 20, 2015
Overall it was excellent. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice, clean room. Free valet, free shuttle within a mile of the hotel, beautiful patio and pool area. The walls are a little thin so I could hear other guests but other than that it was perfect.

Ok hotel. Quick walk up hotel to shops.

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Somewhat noisy. We could hear the person above us every time they walked. Bed was just ok. My husband said his back was bothering him after the second night. Main complaint- the price.and no microwave. We've stayed at many 300-400 night places, this establishment is NOT on par with them. It was close to shops so if that's what you like, than its a good choice. Sad to say but if you are looking for quiet & comfort, pick a local chain, you'll be much happier. Room was also on the small side.

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback regarding your recent visit. It’s disappointing to hear that your stay was not a positive one. We don’t strive for OK… we strive for outstanding and greatness so we certainly have room for improvement. While microwaves are not standard in every room, we certainly have them upon request. I am sorry to hear that your husband had trouble sleeping. Brand new beds were a part of the renovation less than a year ago (May/June of 2014). We conveniently located just a short walk or the valet team can give you a ride in the shuttle (anywhere within a mile of the property). The courtyard is a great place to unwind at the end of the day, have a beverage, and take in the incredible Red rock views. If you are looking for peace and quiet the spa is your oasis. The steam room and relaxation area are available to all of your guests to enjoy. Sincerely, Patrick G General Manager

Un première classe décontracté !

Posted Mar 2, 2015

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. The views are incredible everywhere in Sedona but our courtyard has spectacular vistas. The shuttle service (included in the daily resort fee) is huge plus getting up the long steep drive way or not having to worry about driving within a mile of the property. Great Hotel. Great service. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. The only complaint would be that the hot tub water looked dirty.

Great location, beautiful view from the room

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: cleanliness, friendly, knowledgeable when asked for suggestions on dinner, gasoline, shopping, etc. Also complimentary wine in the early evening.
Cons: A coffee machine in the room would be a great idea!
Location: Walking distance to shops and restaurants
The staff was so friendly from the doormen to the front desk, all phases of our stay was excellent. Even ordering a dessert late in the evening to take up to our room was prepared with a smile. The option to have a ride up to the street and anywhere within a mile was a great free service. I would have preferred a coffee machine in the room so I didn't have to get dressed just to come down to get the complimentary coffee in the morning and back to the room to proceed getting ready for the day. So therefore, no second cup! A beautiful room!

Beth, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience….I am thrilled to hear that the service was top notch and always done with a genuine smile…the team really cares here and it clearly shows as you can attest to it. While we do offer the complimentary coffee ach morning from 5:30AM to 9am daily in our living room we do understand that first cup in the morning is sometimes better in the privacy of your room….so with that said we have coffee makers upon request that can be placed in each and every guest room….we just like interacting with our guests in our living room. Our house is your house and we want to you feel at home… Warm regards, Patrick General Manager
