Wonderful boutique hotel in gorgeous SedonaPosted Apr 11, 2015
Beautiful grounds, room and location. Excellent staff (especially Bradley at the pool and patio restaurant) and food. 1 block walk to town and short drives to incredible hiking. Simply wonderful.

Nice hotel but Noisy.Posted Apr 11, 2015
Pros: Location was good, walkable to many shops and restaurants. Also a shuttle for one mile was provided free. Lawn area with fiercest was very pleasant.
Cons: We requested ice from room service, after 40 minutes waiting we just went to the bar and got it ourselves. No concierge.
We stayed in a spa room, 116. Room was attractive and bed quite comfortable. However, noise from upstairs was very troubling; I'm sure there were not elephants up there, but the sounds were that bad. We did not hear noise from the side rooms, they were well insulated, but the ceiling needs to be soundproofed better. We were kept up late and waked up early by the walking which sounded like stomping. I know Sedona is a very pricy destination, but I still felt the price for this nice, but not amazing room, was steep.

Don't stay there on a weekend.Posted Apr 9, 2015
Pros: It's in Sedona. Although, it's not a place I am going back to again as it's ticky tacky.
Cons: Tell guests that they cannot use the facilities or that there is a wedding onsite before booking. Don't charge resort fees unless the guest can use.
Location: Sedona is a tacky place not at all relaxing unless you hike to a far off location which we did do.
Although Amara advertises itself as a oasis getaway resort it is not. At all hours of the day there are screaming and running children throughout the hotel. We woke up both days to kid squeals before 7am. Also, Staying there on a Sat night the hotel was rented out to a wedding and we were not allowed to use the pool lawn area or patio during sunset and there was loud music playing in the evening. If Amara wants to become a wedding destination hotel they should not book non wedding guests on those nights. I finally had to call down to the front desk at 11 pm because something in the walls was making a buzzing sound along with the thump of the music beats which we could hear along with the screams and laughing of wedding guests. Also, I would like to add that the hotel staff will come into your room while you are there to count the items in the fridge. It was weird.

Great resort with wonderful quiet locationPosted Apr 1, 2015
Pros: Pool and poolside service was great. Our room was very clean and fairly quiet. The location couldn't have been better - so quiet.
Cons: At 4pm, we waited 1.5 hours (!!) for our room key. I have never waited that long for a room key. Valet could smile or chat with guests once in a while
Location: Shopping, Pink Jeep Tours, Dining, Sightseeing, Hiking, Swimming
The Amara is located down a long driveway, far away from the busy street above. This I liked very much! While we arrived at 4pm and had to wait 1.5 hours to get our room key, I did enjoy staying here and would not hesitate to come back. While we never ate at the Salt Rock for dinner, we did for breakfast and lunch. The menu at the Salt Rock is light, but their Huevos Rancheros for breakfast were SO good! It would be nice if they offered more than one breakfast item for kids, but we were happy that they at least offered a waffle. My favorite part about the Amara was their pool. It's not huge, but it the perfect size to take a quick dip or to sit around and meet new faces. There is also food and beverage service at the pool if you want to just hang around and enjoy being lazy. The view of Snoopy Rock and the adjacent rocks was nice too. At the end of the pool, there is a creek which had a narrow path to venture down. Gorgeous view from down there! The standard rooms are small; bed(s), desk and dresser. Our room had a "walk-in" closet that was almost larger than the bathroom. Very clean room and comfortable beds. Complimentary wine hour from 5-6pm nightly. My only gripe would be that the valet seemed a bit odd. Valet never chatted with us, even when we talked to them. Seemed a bit stuffy. Overall, I loved the location, pool, food and tranquility of this location.

Excellent Location and Wonderful SpaPosted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: The view from our room was exceptional and the valet parking was a lovely surprise.
Cons: The restaurant menu - lunch and dinner.
Location: Location was ideal within walking distance to all shops.
The whirlpool bath tub was exceptional; modern and uptodate. The spa experience was exceptional. My facial was so refreshing and relaxing and their product line was high end. Excellent treatment.

The whole family enjoyed this resort. The creek in the back was a plus. The fire pits and the 5-6pm complimentary wine/non-alcoholic beverage was also great. Great view in the back as well. The

Over rated for the pricePosted Mar 29, 2015
The hotel was ok but not worth the price we paid. We have stayed in a lot nicer hotels for less money they also charged a resort fee of 22 which we were not aware of when we booked

Thank you for sharing your feedback but disappointed to hear you did not enjoy your stay. The resort fee of $22 per day includes valet parking, daily yoga classes, access to the steam and relaxation rooms at the spa, as well as shuttle within a mile of the property. In addition, we have nightly complimentary wine hour from 5p-6p which is great fun and an opportunity to meet other guests. It is a highlight for many of our guests.
