Weekend getaway

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: The staff was awesome and the room was pretty nice.
Cons: Update the bathroom to remove the mold in the tub/shower
Location: Sedona, what else is there to say
It was just an overnight stay and had a great time both at the resort as well as the sight seeing.

Pros: Personnel working at hotel. Even received a phone call later on from front desk asking if everything was fine with room and did we need anything else.
Cons: Nothing
Location: View from our balcony was beautiful. Lots of local shopping.
Decided to stay a night in Sedona. Wow did I luck out with this hotel.

Lessons learned

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Very nicely landscaped grounds, aesthetically pleasing. Had a lot of activities available. nice sized rooms
Cons: I cannot grasp why housekeeping doesn't happen every day-time share or not. I don't know anyone who wants to use the same towels over and over
Location: Plenty to do, beautiful scenery.
Property was beautiful. Had 3 rooms for 3 couples in our party. My room stunk like cooking odors from previous guests and/or other rooms. Staff begrudgingly gave us a can of Lysol and a box fan. Its a time share property-Not mentioned in Expedia description. They aggressively "invited" us to their presentation every time we went to the lobby for something. Walls are thin-one of the rooms in our party was kept awake by a snoring guest in another room. Housekeeping came only once during our 5 night stay and we were charged a "resort fee" for use of the pool, fitness room, etc.- things that are included in a normal hotel stay

Better than staying in your average hotel

Posted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: For the area and in comparison with standard hotels the price was really reasonable. And the accommodations were nice.
Cons: Almost July and neither of the soda machines was working. A bit of care to pre-check the room for things like lights and clocks (clear preset alarms!)
I wasn't aware when booking this through Expedia that it's essentially a timeshare property. It was a short trip for a funeral and I wasn't looking closely. Unfortunately, that meant I also wasn't able to appreciate many of the accommodations. No time to use the pool or even take advantage of the suite's kitchen (although - being a member of RCI and familiar with timeshares and condos - I was impressed by a collection of nice new caphalon pots and pans available for use). But - beware there is an extra 10.00 per day "Fee" that is not included in the price. Wasn't happy to learn about that at checkout. The room was nice. One strange thing was my wife and I were trying to figure out if there was a switch required to turn on the two lights on the nightstands on either side of the bed. Neither would go on. Eventually I pulled the nightstand out and found - nothing was plugged in. I plugged in my side - but there wasn't even a plug on her side of the bed. There must have been an extension cord for her light and the clock radio. But - even after pointing that out to the front desk - we spent the entire four nights without getting that solved. To make matters worse - someone had left the alarm programmed for 6am. You'd think a clock that wasn't plugged in wouldn't even work - but it must have had a battery as well for the alarm woke me up the next morning at 6. Not appreciated - particularly when we hadn't been able to check in until 11:30.

More hidden "resort" fees.

Nice place. Heavy on the time share sales pitches though. Also charged a "resort fee" on top of the room rate, which included wifi, laundry facilities... all the things that every other hotel includes without making a big deal about them. Lots of nicer places to stay in Sedona for the same price.

Pleasant Stay

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: Studio. Pool and Jacuzzi, friendly guests. Room nice size.
Cons: Minor maintenance items listed above.
Location: Away from downtown Sedona. Nice if you want to avoid the crowds. Wendy's, Subway, gas station/convenience store.
Room needed some minor repairs - towel rack dented, closet door off track. Stairs no elevators. Requested a call when room was ready - not received. Nice studio room, view of pool. Great views of the Red Rock formations nearby.
