Very nice service, the room was cleaned every day, breakfast was very good. Couldn't use the pool, didn't use the jacuzzi as it was dirty and not sanitized, the grounds were cluttered with junk. It is an average place.

Small Room

Posted May 11, 2015
The room I had was very basic. Bed, lamp, closet, fridge. There was a nice shared bathroom. Very dated bedding and decor, somewhat of a grandma floral style. The ceiling fan was nice but noisy. No tv or radio. The breakfast was nice. The staff was also very friendly and nice. Ps. Location is not in Sedona, it is on the edge of Cottonwood, FYI.

Desert Rose.

Posted Apr 15, 2015
Pros: Quiet out of the way b& b. Very friendly owner. Fresh eggs in the morning. Many booklets and pamphlets about the area.
Cons: If anything.....a little table, or chair in the room would make it easier to put things down.
Location: The Desert Rose was close to many interesting things to do. Close to Jerome, Old Town Cottonwood, Sedona.
It was a very pleasant stay at the Desert Rose. We enjoyed the nearness of things we wanted to explore. Close to the much more expensive and commercial Sedona, yet just a little drive away. Liked the llamas and the free range chickens. (Delicious eggs). Easy directions to find the place.

Comfortable and homey stay.

Posted Apr 12, 2015
Pros: Quiet and comfortable.
Location: Convenient location for amenities. Not within walking distance of downtown but downtown is not our preferred location. The location is more rural.
We were met by Betty and escorted to our room. The house was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a very pleasant breakfast with our fellow guests. The breakfast included a very good quiche made from the fresh eggs provided by the chickens on the property. We stayed two nights. The second morning we were provided with breakfast vouchers for a local restaurant as the cook was enjoying a weekend with her family. We were notified of this in advance and the local diner, Pepe's, was excellent.

Diamond in the Rough

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: The best part was soothing sound of the babbling water from the fountain outside the window. The king size bed was very comfortable!
My wife and I needed some R n R and decided to spend a day in Cottonwood/Jerome, Arizona. We came upon this highly rated Bed and Breakfast - Dessert Rose - and thought, YES, LET'S DO THIS! Well, our first shock was its location. It is outside of town in a mixed rundown/combo mfg home/regular home neighborhood. Our next shock was its appearance - a little rundown from the pictures on the internet. Also, there was a sign as we entered "Ring DoorBell for Service" but there was no doorbell. We entered and could find no one to check us in. We walked around the whole place, knocking on every door and finally found someone to let check us in. He told us that "Expedia" had not sent him our reservation the last time he checked. Our third disappointment was, there were extra rooms and the host did not offer to upgrade us at no charge for the inconvenience we had gone through. Our bed was wonderful, but the floor was unfinished concrete with a throw rug and the mini fridge sat on the floor, instead of on a stand. We had to almost get on our knees to use it.

Nice hotel, close to historic Old Town Cottonwood.

Posted Mar 8, 2015
Pros: Room was clean and bed was comfortable.
Cons: Coffee maker in room. I'm an early riser and enjoy my coffee early.
Location: Great historic parks. Terrific local restaurants near by.
Very pleasant stay. Enjoyed the llamas and chickens. Breakfast was great as well. Had a pleasant visit with other patrons. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Felt very much at home there.

The owner of this facility is so rude

Posted Mar 7, 2015
Pros: Nothing
We left over $300 non refundable money because of how rude the owner of this facility was and the location where it is at is not very convient. The location we stayed at was in old town , it was great customer service beautiful and we couLd walk to eat and t was all good. This owner was not only rude but then continued to text me on my cell phone as to what time we wold be getting in and where we were coming from, even after I advised him we had an 11 hr drive.
