I love this hotel. There is no comparison to anything close unless you're going to stay in Sedona. It's well appointed, clean, convenient, and the connection to the adjacent Tavern makes for a nice connection to a comfortable place to have a drink or meal. There are several restaurant options that are either across the street or a short walk. I always stay here if I can.

We arrived after dark, and used the phone number on the office door to call someone to show us to our room. Not one minute did we wait until we were escorted to our room by Tracy. The room was located on the second floor up a narrow staircase. We had a VERY comfy king-size bed and a sofa, lots of space to hang our clothes (we were on a long road trip and had 3 suitcases!) The bathroom was tiny, not much place to put any of my cosmetics or even toothbrushes, but we made due. The shower was absolutely perfect - roomy, great rain shower type shower head, excellent selection of soaps and shampoos. I woke early the next morning and had a coffee with Tracy in the office and she totally changed our local travel plans with fantastic advice, which we are so grateful we followed.
I returned to the room and used the little coffee maker to make another Starbucks coffee, and we used the mini fridge and microwave a few times during the 4 day stay we had at Iron Horse Inn. My husband wasn't feeling well most of the trip, so we spent each night in the room watching TV - we were very comfortable staying in.

We had a great stay - only one night, but the room was lovely, a spacious suite with fireplace, comfy king bed and modern bathroom. Check in/out was smooth, and we enjoyed the cookies and the hot tub in the evening. The made-to-order breakfast in the morning was delicious (roasted potatoes with an egg-topped tamale and pico de gallo, along with coffee, orange juice, and yogurt with fruit and granola). Highly recommend!

My daughter and I enjoyed two rare days of being together at the Auberge. Restaurant, service and food are outstanding. The location is unique above a whispering river. Life fire in the room's wood burning fireplace.
The only problem we encountered was the King size bed's mattress that conveyed every and any movement we made to each other. This interfered somewhat with sleeping. Hard to understand why as I, for example, at 5'4" weigh only about 113 pounds and every turn I made conveyed to my daughter.

From the moment we checked in we knew that this was not going to be a routine motel experience. We were personally expected by Amber, the receptionist who was wonderful. We had Room One, just off the lobby and the convenience to the additional comfort of the lobby with the morning continental breakfast (more than sufficient) was great. Coffee and tea were always available.
Our views from our balcony of the woods, creek and mountains were extraordinary. The ducks on the creek below us were an added treat. . The nearness to Tlaquepaque was a very important feature--just a quick 3-5 minute walk without crossing a street. We ate at Rene', a great French restaurant, the Secret Garden for a splendid breakfast, and at the Oak Creek Grill which had nicely priced and interesting menu.
To round out our happy experience, I had foolishly left a light on in my car and had a dead battery. No problem -- the owner himself helped me get a battery "jump".

Life does not get better than this: stepping out the door of your room to watch the sun rise over Sedona's red rock mountains, sipping wine under the stars in the courtyard, gathering around the fire pit or sitting in the hot tub to stay warm in the cold desert night. The Red Agave resort is an amazing hotel that makes all this possible. The room was clean, if somewhat dated. Hiking trails are accessible off the property.

The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. They printed out a local map for us since it was our first time there and gave us some pointers for the trips we had planned. The room was exceptional. We expected a standard room, but it was certainly more than your average room. Very well laid out, very comfortable, nicely decorated and all the amenities we needed. The entire motel grounds were very neat and clean. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Cottonwood.
