Overpriced

The staff were nice. But overall is not worth 100 dollars per night. It is clean and basic. Think a good motel standard.

Sedona is Beautiful, but Not This Hotel

Posted Dec 4, 2014
Pros: nothing
Cons: Desk staff should not talk about problems in front of guests who are checking in. At least an apology for inconvenience due to remodeling.
Location: There is a wealth of activities, restaurants and shops nearby,
We drove in from LA and were greeted by a grumpy desk clerk who was having a tiff over someone canceling a reservation (not us) and he proceeded to talk about it in front of us. Then he said we were booked for a deluxe king through Expedia (which he also seemed to have a problem with) and then gave us keys and directions to our room. Our "deluxe" king was upstairs with no elevator and no bell help. The stairs and hall were dirty, the room was small and in no way "deluxe". The bathtub creaked liked walking on a old wood floor. The view was the parking lot and the eating area was across the parking lot, upstairs in another building. Apparently the hotel is being renovated which was not stated in any website I viewed and the pictures of this property were apparently a long time ago or after the renovations is completed. This was basically a motel 6 type accommodation and certainly not what we expected or paid for.

Great location, friendly helpful staff

Posted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: The location was excellent and the staff was extremely helpful. The full breakfast was a bonus was very tasty.
Location: The hike to Margs Draw was wonderful and the map in the lobby was very helpful. The art galleries next door on the way to town were wonderfu.
We had a wonderful mini vacation in Sedona in November due in large part to our stay at Kings Ransom. The easy accessibility to hiking trails, art galleries and fine restaurants made for a most enjoyable visit. The staff was friendly and helpful and we will definitely return.

There was a noticeable lack of furniture and artwork in the room. As such, it appeared very sterile.
