Historic accommodations in an historic city

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Historic details.
Location: Adjacent to beginning of aqueduct. Short walk to town. Opposite side of town (about a mile) from famous Alcazar.
Segovia was our first night stay and this hotel was a great introduction to historic Spain. The monastery (16th century?) converted into a hotel maintained the original historic character and detail, while offering modern bathrooms and comfort. Breakfast was included in our reservation, and enjoyable. The location at the very start of the aqueduct is on the edge of the city. A scenic 15 minute walk into town takes you along the aqueduct as it grows from waste high to 600 ft.(?). If you have a car, stay overnight instead of the bus trip and stay here.

Interesting hotel

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Hotel has good private parking, and it's located next to the start of the aqueduct, so easy to find way into town. Attached to(and part of) a old monastery which is well worth a visit. Good food, comfortable hotel.

Paper thin walls

Posted May 18, 2014 on Hotels.com
Lovely hotel with elegant decor and architecture. However, the rooms have thin walls that allow you to hear most everything in the hallway and in the rooms next door. Normal conversations of the neighbours were only kept to themselves by the fact that I don't know German. Easy access to main roads, ample parking and a quiet stroll to get to the old town are the redeeming points.

great place to stay

easy to find and a lovely position, the hotel is great value and sits in lovely grounds. we loved the central plaza that was shielded by glass panels on each floor so it could be viewed-this was really lovely and you got a feeling that you were indeed staying somewhere historically special. The room exceeded our expectations and was incredibly comfortable and we appreciated the good quality toiletries in the huge bathroom. We slept well here and enjoyed a lovely breakfast that basically had everything-the breakfast room is very interesting with tapestries on the wall. I used the gym at the hotel and it was perfectly adequate for me. i was able to do cardio and weights work there. We had a car and we parked right outside the front door and traversed Segovia's old town with ease by car.

Comfortable and convenient hotel

Posted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: Cloister, bar, buffet breakfast
Cons: Less piped music everywhere...!
Location: Great place to explore Segovia from
The hotel staff were very welcoming on our arrival and were very helpful throughout our stay. The greatest feature for me was the wonderful cloister where we could enjoy a cup of tea (or something stronger) whilst basking in the sun and listening to the relaxing sound of the fountain in the middle of the courtyard. The room was comfortable and well-furnished, and the first walk into town from the hotel was unforgettable as you follow the side of the Aquaduct at its not very impressive beginnings and then turn the corner and see the full impact of the aqueduct as it goes above the square. we would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Good hotel if you have a car, free onsite parking

Posted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: Parking although public car parks are readily available. Quiet however within walking distance of the busy city sites.
Cons: Atmosphere a little stayed, they could encourage the use of the central patio for patrons to sit and relax.
Location: At the southern end of the Aquaduct a few small bars in the backstreets.
Rather stiff atmosphere although the cloisters were closed due to it being a Monday. Initially a little hard to find with GPS however it is located right at the end of the aqueduct and an easy walk from Plaza del Azoguejo. Staff were friendly and helpful. The surrounding area was lacking in restaurants and bars with hotel dining expensive however the included breakfast was extensive and delicious. Rooms were comfortable although a little small. Overall a pleasant stay and an easy drive to Madrid Airport the next day.

A really enjoyable stay

We stopped in Segovia overnight on our journey to Santander. What an excellent choice we made for our stopover. We left thinking that we would love to have stayed in this hotel for longer. We had a very warm welcome from Oscar when we booked in and were treated well by all the staff. The facilities were excellent, especially the extremely comfy bed!! Exceptional value for money.

Beautiful building with lovely communal rooms

Posted Oct 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
We have a lovely few days in Segovia and from there was easily able to get to Madrid for a day trip. The hotel itself was very nice with picturesque architecture and helpful staff and plenty of on-site parking. The food was good. Our room was a bit of a disappointment; pokey and no view as it looked out over a wall opposite. There was a charge for using the safe in room (I've not encountered this before).
