Would be a gem, but needs refurbishment badly.Posted Jun 16, 2015
Pros: Interesting converted building and magnificent views of Segovia.
Cons: The building needs refurbishment and the level of service needs to be improved. For example, a shuttle service to the Aqueduct would be a great help,
Location: Some distance from the city centre.
This hotel could be a gem, but, disappointinly, has not seen refurbishment for some 40-50 years (at a glance). It was built in a magnificent building (looks like some converted industrial building). It sports an impressive entrance hall with a huge rest area and a bar, and all windows and balconies offer majestic panoramic views of Segovia. But when you look closely, you see some old window frames and locks which do not seem to function properly, balconies which are closed for some unexplainable reason. When you walk in a changing room of the pool, you see it in an appalling state. Wi-fi works pretty well and staff are friendly. However, quality of room service is not great.

STAY THERE. But it is hard to find. Very.Posted May 3, 2015
Pros: The building itself, the rooms, view, free parking.
Cons: DIRECTIONS TO THE HOTEL !!!!! There are few road signs leading to The Parador. It was just luck that we found it.
Location: Segovia: Cathedral, Castle, Aqueduct.
With directions it took us nearly an hour to find the hotel by car (it is outside and above Segovia); driving through Segovia is not possible (streets cordoned off), the road signage impossible, and the 'ring road' circling Segovia seeming to go in every direction and no direction at the same time. HOWEVER, once we found The Parador it was worth it. The view of the city below the hotel: fantastic. The rooms, facilities, tavern, parking .... all top drawer. The 2 mile walk down to Segovia CAN be done; but it is NOT an attractive walk (alongside a busy highway). We drove down and up. Parking was very difficult but it was a holiday weekend. In Segovia itself we saw few hotels and almost no cars. This confirmed that our choice of The Parador was indeed the right choice. For those on a budget (we were) the Parador Bar has small dishes for dinner at reasonable prices.

The hotel is very nice, outside the walls with beautiful view of Segovia. Nice, clean and comfortable room. Hotel's service and amenities are great. We had a rental car, enjoyed the free parking and didn't mind the distance from the old city. The view the city from the room though was amazing!

Superb but disappointed to find very limited access to swimming pool to the extent that it was not open at all during our stay. Restaurant was excellent and bar service very good indeed - and cheap!
