Even though South Central Alaska is off the beaten track, there are plenty of things to do and see around Seldovia. Examples of places within a relatively short distance of Seldovia are Halibut Cove, 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the southwest, and Anchor Point, 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the south.
Approximately 15 miles (24 kilometers) to the north of Seldovia is Homer, a regional center home to Homer Harbor, Pratt Museum and Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center. Homer has a lot to offer travelers happy to spend a little time here. Kachemak Bay State Park and Homer Spit are just some of the sights worth a visit.
For those who love to make the most of winter, this region may be the perfect destination. Follow the lead of the locals and enjoy skiing and cross-country skiing. This region has some great places for rafting, so ensure you fit that into your itinerary. Sea kayaking is another watersport here.
