We enjoyed the clean modern hotel, and a very good meal at the restaurant.

Great locationPosted Jul 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
The quality of the hotel was excellent and the inclusion of a separate bath and shower made for a relaxing stay. The room was reasonably large for a hotel in Japan. The location right next to the Sendai Station made it very easy for us to obtain train information and reserve seats.

Good business hotel, close to trainPosted Apr 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
I was arriving late from Tokyo, and I had a morning meeting in Sendai. I wanted a hotel close to transportation. The hotel is part of the large train station complex, which includes plenty of shops in a sub-floor and ground-level mall. The subway station is also a short walk out the door. Despite all the transport below, I could not hear any of it, several floors up. So I slept easily. The hotel itself is a nice, clean, business hotel, with professional staff. The single room which I had was typical for this type of hotel in Japan: small and sufficient.

Excellent HotelPosted Apr 24, 2012 on Hotels.com
We stayed in several hotels in Japan on this trip, and the Hotel Metropolitan Sendai was by far the nicest. Fantastic location, adjacent to Sendai station and very close to the main shopping/dining areas. My wife and I had a double room - it was large by Japanese standards, and there was plenty of room for our stuff. The 160cm bed (basically a queen-size) was extremely comfortable. There was one room for the toilet, and one room for the sink with another door leading to the bath/shower (and as with most Japanese hotels, the soap & shampoo provided were top-notch). The temperature in the room was easily controlled via thermostat, and the window did open a small bit if needed. The rooms have wired internet, but if you want wireless you'll have to go to the (very spacious) lobby. There is also a business center in the lobby with computers, but ask a staff member to show you where it is. The staff spoke passable English and were very accommodating. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant – although it looked great, the prices seemed very high and there are plenty of restaurants nearby serving all kinds of wonderful food at more reasonable prices. This hotel is a great choice for exploring Sendai, and its proximity to the station makes it a great base for exploring other parts of Tohoku. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the region.

Excellent Location, service impeccable, more costly but worth the expensePosted Oct 25, 2010
I researched hotels in Sendai and booked this due to its location adjacent to the JR Station in Sendai, this is a Japan Rail hotel. We flew into Narita and took the Narita Express and the Shinkansen to Sendai for an overnight stay. As expected the hotel was easy to find and was offered an upgrade for 200Yen; this gave us a luxurious room with expansive (for a Japanese hotel) area and full bath. Service from check in, concierge, bell person and check out was impeccable. Would recommend to anyone looking for a convenient upscale room.
