Excellent stay

Posted Jun 22, 2014
Pros: Location, room cleanliness
Cons: Breakfst package is confusing. When purchasing, I remember reading two breakfasts were included in the price. But, at the hotel, only one was provided
Location: In the heart of downtown Seoul
Great hotel. Staff was very helpful. Good location. A little noisy during stay because of guests attending electronic music concert

Extra charges

Posted Jun 20, 2014
Pros: Location; close to shopping and the city air terminal where I can check in for my flgiht
Cons: The hotel's communication with Expedia
Overall experience was positive; however, check-in was very difficult and challening; first, although I had indicated in my order that two adults and one child would be staying, the hotel wanted charge extra for my child; it took them ten minutes to agree to not charge for my child's stay in my room. I found this experience unpleasant especially after a tiring day of travel; other than this event, overall stay was fairly pleasant

True five star hotel experience. Only minus fact is that wireless internet charge is too much.

Air Asia of hotels

Posted Apr 23, 2014
Pros: Location, amenities, staff.
Cons: Complimentary wifi, reduction of construction noise.
Location: Centrally located in Gangnam. Lots to see & do. Not much within walking distance, but convenient to the subway system, and taxi's are plentiful.
The newly renovated Grand Intercontinental Parnas is a lovely hotel, in a great location of Seoul, with helpful and friendly staff, and the room rates are even reasonable, which is a rare treat in such an expensive city. The buffet breakfast is fantastic, with over the top selection, and an attentive, and friendly staff. In fact, all staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly. However, the site around the hotel is still under heavy construction. The transmitted jackhammer noise at times made its way all the way up to the 30th floor where I was staying. Although the room rate is reasonable, they hit you up with nickel & dime charges just like a cut-rate airline does. $25 a day for wireless internet access? Robbery. $17 for a coffee in the lobby lounge? Yikes! My wife & I referred to the hotel as the Air Asia of Seoul hotels. The charge of admission is low, but you'll pay for all the necessary frills. I had an 8 night stay in Seoul, but got booted out of the Intercontinental after 4 nights because they were over booked. We ended up at the Marriott Executive Suites in Yoido.....not as good of a location, but much better value.

Close to subway and my meetings

Posted Apr 8, 2014
Pros: Very helpful and kind staff.
Cons: Limited room service menu. Could have more room service items listed in English vs. Korean.
Location: Subway stop. Heart of Seoul.
Great hotel and well suited for business class traveller. Will definitely book my return stay to Seoul with them later this month.

Not business class maybe ok for a family

Pros: Location to Tokyo BigSite and train station
Cons: See previous experience
Location: Location to Tokyo BigSite and train station
The hotel staff seems to have a lot of trouble with managing nightly rates in their system and on their billing. Staff was nice enough but very inefficient. I used many of the business services and they were very antiquated. The meeting room were weird. The rooms are situated between sleeping rooms and the meeting room looks like they just hauled out the bed and snuck in a table. No staff was available on not the floor for assistance.

Under construction

Posted Feb 10, 2014
Pros: Close to subway
Location: Convenient traffic, but many construction near by.
Staffs are kind and well-trained. Room is okay to stay. However, many places are under construction. I lost my way in the parking lot. COEX mall is closed this time.
