“Gangnam Wedding Location”
The location of the hotel near to the Anniversary Wedding complex and the hotel also has its own wedding facility. It is also not far from COEX which is very convenient.
“Great Hotel for Business”
Great Gym and activity center, make sure to try the indoor golf course, I will try to stay here anytime I am in Korea.
“Overpriced Dungeon”
The room size is very small for the price. The coffee pot is located by the mini bar, but there was no place to plug it in. There were only two power outlets in the whole room which were located by the desk and one of the two outlets didn't work. That left me with only one outlet for charging my computer and cell phone. The buffet style breakfast is highly over priced considering the selection of food and after getting your breakfast you need to find an open table on your own. Being that the "non-smoking" area wasn't very big, it was very difficult to find an open table.
“The hotel is basic and convenient for those on a business trip.”
The hotel is basic and convenient for those on a business trip. While the lady at the front desk warmly acknowledged my request for a room with a river view with a strong head shaking I was disappointed not to see any water from my window. The room is capacious and modestly decorated. The bathroom lacks a bathtub but otherwise fully functional. The mini bar doubles up as a refrigerator for use. There is a small family market nearby, open 24/7, where you can buy a limited variety of fruits, beverages and food. The front hotel entrance is 3 stories lower than its entrance on the backstreet. To access the family market take the elevator to the 3 floor and get out to the back street and turn right and walk for 50 meters. The convention center and its large underground mall is two blocks away but takes a 15 minute walk up and down a hill. The mall has many small restraints which are reasonably priced compared to the hotel. Seoul is clean and people are polite and courteous. The taxis are cheap and clean. The airport bus is cheap and punctual but make sure to read the time table at your hotel because it is not operating for sometime after midnight. The airport duty free shop is not very obvious as you get into the country. Look for it before you go into customs. If you buy from the city duty free shop you have to receive the merchandise at the airport as you leave. I took a day tour from the hotel and visited 2 palaces The change of the guards occurs at 10 am and it is nice to see.
“A very good and easy option- if you can get a good price!”
This hotel has a direct bus stop from the airport for $15 (~ 90 minutes), an area that's a little like downtown in Seoul. The hotel was excellent the people spoke English as well as Korean. In all, it was far easier than I expected. Also, there were some delicious food places next door. The hotel restaurant and other areas seemed a little expensive, so don't be afraid to branch out. One other tip- They don't seem to have 2 double beds in Korea, so if you are with a friend and don't want to share, you need to choose the twin bed option (not double).
“Stay here if you want to go to COEX”
The location of this hotel is perfect if you plan to stay on the south side of the river, especially if all of your business takes place near COEX mall. Seeing as how my husband and I were just visiting all over Seoul, a hotel closer to downtown would have been nice. We booked the luxury suite, expecting there to be a 'patio' (which we assumed would be a balcony), but there wasn't one, and was informed upon inquiring at the front desk that there are no hotels in Seoul that have these. The concierge was wonderful and hailed us cabs and helped us with whatever we needed. However, the front desk was not as helpful. We returned from a long walk around midnight and wanted to take a shower, but needed extra towels and wash cloths. We were told we couldn't have wash cloths because housekeeping was closed, but towels could be provided. If it was a true 4-star hotel, the front desk would have access to housekeeping at all times. The hotel was nice, but not exactly what we expected.
“Great location in Seoul”
This hotel is really excellent for the money. Rooms were spotlessly clean, linens soft, and the staff was very responsive. I had read about the very hard (firm) mattresses, and while they were indeed extremely firm, it was not a big deal. The location is good and it's walking distance to a large mall. A hotel breakfast was not included and was rather pricey in the dining room. Overall I highly recommend this hotel.
“Above average hotel but a few drawbacks”
Rooms on road side are noisy. Other side : OK. Beds are too hard. TV reception's quality isn't good. Pool is very nice. Breakfast quality is really poor, coffee terrible. Better save your money and go in one of the numerous coffee shops in Seoul. From the few hotels I've experienced in Seoul, this one is quite correct. Unfortunately, it's a bit too far from the subway, and attractive places.
“Good Hotel”
Hotel Riviera is a really good hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. I very much enjoyed my stay there. The location isn't too bad. There is a metro stop a short walk from the hotel which allows you to get to other parts of Seoul easily.
“Good Hotel”
I really liked the stay in the hotel. Most of the staff was friendly and courteous. They all spoke English. We did have an issue at the beginning between what type of room we booked and what type of room we got, but it was resolved to our satisfaction.
