Well situated hotel

Posted Apr 6, 2014
Well situated for restaurants, always taxis outside and stop for bus to airport is the other side of the road. Staff polite and friendly. Initially looks very impressive but showing its age. My room had yellowing Sellotape hanging from the ceiling, cushions on chairs were falling apart and when the bed linen was changed it had cigarette burns on the duvet cover and sheet! Food was very expensive in the restaurants so I ate out or purchased croissants for breakfast from the nearby bakers. The power to room is controlled by your key card so when you leave the ipad you left plugged into charge doesn't charge.

Great First Impression

Posted Apr 2, 2014
Cons: If possible, it would be great to have one of the airport limo buses stop at the hotel.
Location: Walking distance to the COEX and good view of the Han River. Close to the Olympic stadium, Lotte World and Olympic Park.
With this trip being my first overnight stay in Korea, I was very nervous about selecting a hotel...but was really pleased with my stay at the Riviera. The staff was very friendly and helpfull, making checking in and out a breeze. They spoke english very well and didn't make me feel uncomfortable about not being able to speak Korean. The concierge service was very professional and provided excellent assistance. The lobby, facilities and room was very nice and upscale. My room was very clean and spacious. I really liked the bathroom/shower set up and I loved the firm bed. I appreciated all the items that were made available in the room for purchase such as snacks and toilettries. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Great location, hotel is a bit faded glory

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: Location, price.
Cons: Could use a facelift.
Location: Right by city hall, beside Lotte Hotel. Short walk to probably hundreds of restaurants.
Great location, and it was cheap relative to the surroundings. But my room was still rocking a dusty pink sink straight out of a few decades ago. Some weird quality issues, too: the hotel faces the city hall square, which is great. But the windows don't completely close, which means they bang a bit in the wind and don't block all of the sound. Hotel staff were great, though, happy to provide power adapters.

Excellent location, clean rooms and nice ambience

Posted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: Reasonably priced
Cons: Shower booth which may increase the hotel price. I rather prefer affordable price than increase with perfection.
Location: Club Answer(Even you are over 30 in tidy attire, you can go there. Nice DJing electro with hip local), Dome, Once in a Blue Moon and 24hr KR restauran
Very convenient place to park your own car as well as have walking distance to subway station(Cheongdam, Line7)

Good option for events at COEX

Posted Feb 16, 2014
Pros: Inexpensive rooms with a good gym in the basement
Cons: The beds are too hard. Slippers should be disposable, not re-usable (typical Korean style).
Location: It's a pleasant walk to the COEX exhibition center.
Inexpensive hotel rooms within reasonable walking distance to COEX
