Great staff and location - only had smoking roomsPosted Sep 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel could not accommodate our request for a non-smoking room the night we arrived. We were tired and did not feel like trying to find another hotel, so we stayed. The night desk manager pretended that the room was non-smoking when we checked in, but it was very obvious by the smell that it was not. They tried finding other rooms on the floor (we looked at 4 total) but they were all the same. Overall we were happy with the staff and location, but not comfortable in the room and will not stay there again or recommend it to others.

Great location, helpful multilingual staffPosted Aug 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
It was an enjoyable stay with Ibis @ Myeongdong. The airport limo bus stops at entrance of IBIS Myeongdong is a huge plus to start. The location of the hotel right in the heart of Myeongdong shopping belt, along side the surrounding high fashion shopping malls, is fabulously convenient. The hotel crew - all of them - are impressively talented with great multi language skills. The conceirge crews, all of them, are so very helpful and patient. And these conceirge crews multi-task as mini-bus shuttle drivers to drive us to nearby tourist spots at their scheduled 1-way drop-off points. Great services. It made my stay at Seoul an uneventful and enjoyable one. On my return with added baggages (resulted from endless shopping), we were really thankful the Incheon airport limo bus' Bus Stop is just right in front of IBIS!!! I would definitely want to go back to IBIS Myeongdong if I viist Seoul for leisure stay again! Highly recommended!! Two thumbs up!!

Comfortable Seoul GetawayPosted Aug 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
I was very impressed by Ibis and their staff overall. It's only about a block or two away from the Eul-ji-ro 1-ga(aka. Ib-Gu) Subway station and is very accessible. It has a nice coffee shop on the first floor. The check-in was on the 19th (top) floor which I found a bit strange, but regardless it was a very good experience and the staff at the hotel were polite, helpful, and spoke good English. The only issue I had with my hotel room is that I couldn't turn some of the lights off unless I took my card out of the card holder at the entrance of the room, which I'm not sure is normal or not, but the card holder controls all the electricity so therefore if I wanted to lights off I was unable to charge my phone at night. And, the AC turned on when my card was out, which meant I was a little cold at night, and the controls seemed inoperable when the card was out. Regardless, these weren't huge issues, and admittedly perhaps there is a solution. The room also interestingly includes a cell phone, but I wasn't able to get it working. I hadn't approached staff about that issue. The Wi-Fi seemed to work fine, if the signal is a bit spotty here and there for VoIP. No different anywhere else I've been, if the other places even have WiFi. Friendly atmosphere and highly recommended overall.

Very Handy LocationPosted Aug 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is fairly good. It is in a terrific location as it's right amongst the action. Handy to the big market and the airport limousine bus stops right outside. If I came back to Seoul, which is most unlikely then I would definately stay there again.

Accommodating staff in hotelPosted Aug 7, 2013
Pros: The cleanliness of the hotel and the professional care of the hotel staff
Cons: A way to provide electricity during the night to use necessary medical equipment such as a C-pap machine or to charge electronic devices.
Location: The hotel is in the center of Seoul city. It is easily located to subways and within walking distance to sightseeing, restaurants, and shopping.
We were faced with a medical emergency during our stay. It was comforting to know that we were given support and accommodations to make it easier to deal with. The staff gave us immediate attention to our needs and always asked how things were and if there was anything they could do for us. This hotel and staff are American friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to South Korea.
