Falls far short

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Staff
Cons: Rooms, common areas, A/C
Location: Very busy congested, noisy location
A/C in rooms doesn't work well, mattress is hard and cheap, toilet faces so close to a wall that it is difficult to use, hallways are not climate controlled and smell badly. Hall carpets is filthy and visibly soiled. The staff was outstanding but the facility itself left much to be desired.

Dear Guest Thank you for your staying with Novotel Seoul Ambassador Doksan. We do apologize that we caused any unhappy experiences at this hotel. We reflect your valuable opinion for next renovation plan for toilet and we are planning to order more soft mattresses as you mentioned It's rainy season with high temperature and humidity in Korea, therefore most guest run A/C all day long which caused some errors occasionally. And we clean the hall carpet regularly, we decided to clean it more often especially summer season, we arrange next cleaning service on August. I have addressed your comments to Maintenance and Housekeeping to ensure that this problem is fixed. All our guest’s satisfaction and comfort is very important to us and we will conduct more thorough inspection to ensure that these types of problem do not occur again. Thank you for valuable feedback, and we do hope we can welcome you back on a future visit. Richard Chung General Manager

Lovely hotel, brilliant staff

Fantastic modern clean hotel, in the Doksan region of Seoul. The service was fantastic and the room was very smart and clean. Couldn't really fault the hotel at all. The only real disadvantage is the fact you have to pay for Wi-Fi which is pretty ridiculous. Also the hotel is quite a distance from the centre of town. It's pretty easy by both taxi or metro though. Overall, the 5 night stay was very enjoyable.

Well appointed hotel in business district of Seoul

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: It had all the comforts I needed for my brief stay
Location: Plenty of restaurants nearby. Metro was about 15 minutes walk.
The Novotel Ambassador Doksan is a comfortable hotel with efficient staff which suited me well for my brief visit. There were plenty of restaurants nearby and it was a 15 minute walk to the metro. There is a taxi service to the airport which is only an hour away, or 70 minutes by bus for only 10,000 won for the budget conscious.

Nice hotel very good return for cost

Posted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: Staff, price room
Cons: Cut the internet charge
The staff are extreemly helpful, the rooms fine and the location ok butthere is a #1 subway 10 minutes away and the #6004 limo bus from the airport right to right in front of the hotel. Only week point is that the internet is not free and around $15 aday.

Novotel Doksan

Posted Sep 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
From the French group Accord, this Novotel is not the best I visited but it's quite good. The room and service are quite good. The staff could be a bit more welcoming but they do their best to help. The location is not in Seoul city center but ideal gateway if you want to catch the KTX, Korean fast train as one of the main station is 15 min by taxi and you can go to many places from here, particularly busan...

Super Clean with a Good Breakfast

Posted Mar 1, 2013
Pros: Really, really clean and a good breakfast and nice pool.
Cons: Staff not friendly.
Location: Took about 20 minutes to walk to Guro Digital Station. A huge Home Plus across the street with 5 floors of shopping pleasure, with grocery and toys.
I really enjoyed my stay here with 2 kids for over 1 week. The couch was small enough for 1 child to sleep comfortably on. The breakfast was amazing with alot of choice and fresh food and good coffee. There is a Home Plus right across the street, so groceries can be bought easily and the kitchette is helpful to put together simple meals. My room was surprisingly quiet for the majority of the time. It was a super clean hotel that surpassed my expectations. The pool was clean but requires a swim cap for entrance to the pool, so bring one with you or you will pay an inflated price for them at the hotel. The only thing that I would comment on is that the staff is not friendly, at all. I was there for over a week and only 2 staff recognized me and acknowledged me after seeing me for 8 days straight.
