In the heart of SeoulPosted Dec 4, 2013
Centrally located and comfortable. Worth the money and the name. all attractions within a short walk. A little noisy during the day on weekends because of public events in front of the City Hall.

Great locationPosted Dec 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
Pretty good value for money given central location. Only thing is the motion sensor light at entrance of room was disconcerting as it kept turning on and off by itself. I finally had the technician unplug it to sleep soundly.

In need of refreshing.Posted Oct 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
It's in a good spot, easy access from a major subway station. However, it is in great need of updating. The hotel has all the usual amenities. My room was ok, but old, and smelled of old carpeting and cold smoke (although it was a non-smoking room). It was also very noisy from the traffic down below.

extreme convenience and comfortPosted Jul 13, 2011 on Hotels.com
I stayed at the President Hotel with my elderly mother while I attended a conference in Seoul. Our room overlooked the City Hall and there were often concerts on the stage there, perfect for soaking up the culture without going out (although one night it went on a little bit late when I was trying to sleep). The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The Business Centre was always available and free of charge. There are several restaurants in the hotel and also a lovely salon for foot reflexology etc. Walking distance to Lotte Department Store with a great food court underneath and an interesting arcade full of shops which arrives back almost at the hotel. Highly recommended as it is very reasonably priced. There are renovations happening at the moment, some noise during the day (I wasn't there usually). Our room was very well appointed though, even though on an unrenovated floor.

Modernized since earlier reviews postedPosted Jun 22, 2011
I booked this hotel knowing that it had a great location but expecting it to be quite dated based on other reviews. I was very pleasantly surprised to find the hotel recently renovated. The lobby area is gleaming with newness. My room, on the 22nd floor overlooking City Hall, also had been updated. It still is not to a top-level standard in terms of design/decor (and, yes, they still charge for shampoo--so bring you own!), but for the price, I think it was a real deal. I appreciated the large size of the room (two arm chairs and a coffee table in addition to the two beds), the incredible view overlooking City Hall (where there are lots of free concerts), the fridge that had room to add some things of your own (in addition to what they provide for a fee), and the excellent service. These days the hotel is largely used by large tour groups; I found the level of service for an individual travel to be exceptional. They even lent me a plug converter to use during my stay -- since the outlets in the room are the Korean three-prong round type. I'd definitely go back.
