“Somerset palace”
Very good hotel, clean, new and spacious rooms, near the Anguk subway station (just a few minutes walk).
“Gerne wieder”
Kostenloses Internet. Hervorragende Lage, in Fußnähe zum Königspalast, vielen Restaurants, Subway.
“Would stay here again next time we visit Seoul”
Best thing was exceptional service from the staff, all of whom went out of their way to greet us, help us whenever we asked, and represented the very best that Korean hospitality has to offer. All spoke english reasonably well. Rooms were very comfortable, breakfast buffet was excellent (but a bit crowded at times), and can't say enough about convenient location just a short walk from Gyeongbok Palace, Insadong market, and Anguk subway station. Also Korean Exchange Bank right behind hotel for convenient money exchange. Cost for internet usage in business center seemed a little high, but wireless in the lobby area was great (we had an iTouch). Also great to have washer/drier all in one in our room. Finally, we visited the convenient store and Starbucks on the ground floor quite frequently. Would recommend highly to leisure and business travellers alike.
“Fantastic location, great service. Pefect hotel to go with kids”
This hotel has a fantastic location very close to local attractions. The service is great and the hotel facilities are perfect to go with kids.
“A Pleasurable Experience”
Hotel just a brisk 5-7 minute walk from the Anguk subway station. Staff was really friendly right from checking in all the way to checking out. The room reminded me more of an apartment than your average hotel room because there was a kitchen area and a washer/dryer. However, some bathroom supplies you'll usually find in hotels were not provided such as razors, toothbrushes and those mini toothpaste tubes. Fortunately there's a convenience store right in front of the hotel. Nevertheless, it was still an excellent room! Spacious, clean and had a comfy bed. The "living area" of the room was nicely laid out, and I felt very relaxed as I just sat there on the couch enjoying one of the many channels they offered. Even though all the appliances were in Korean, there were multi-language support guides laid out, so that was a plus. If I ever visit Seoul again, I definitely will stay here again.
“In a single word: fantastic.”
Reservation and check-in couldn't have been better. Quick and efficient and particularly friendly service. All is good (cleanliness, quick internet etc., etc.), moreover, the hotel has a delightful little garden with lily pond and lots and lots of green. The food in the Bärlin was a bit disappointing, but we have only ourselves to blame: in a city with so much delicious Korean food you must be out of your mind to 'go German'! Complimentary breakfast was okay; if you're big on fruit possibly disappointing; the''fried and poached and omeletted egg counter' was great, and our admiration goes out to the utterly unfazed - with so many different requests - very quick cook. The rooms are just right sizewise, possibly a tad too small for really big people; the bed was very comfortable.
“An excellent experience”
I have been travelling to Korea for over 10 years now and have stayed in a number of hotels. The overall experience at the Somerset House was the best to date.
“Stylish comfort, convenient setting”
The Somerset Palace is located conveniently between Gyeongbok Palace and Insadong. Well-trained staff are both professional and friendly and gave us lots of help on our first trip to Seoul. We had a two-bedroom suite with two bathrooms, kitchen and washer-dryer. Furnishings were stylish and comfortable. Breakfast was included with the room -- a semi-strange variety of offerings from an American perspective but definitely lots of choices, and plenty to suit everyone. The hotel has a well-equipped fitness room, a convenience store on the ground floor, and also a Starbucks. Our kids loved the small playroom with a climbing gym and ball pit. Metro stations for two lines are within about 2-3 blocks. Room rate was a bit high for us, but it is difficult to find accommodation for 4 people in Seoul and we thought the price was reasonable. We would stay there again.
“Best hotel for a family”
Our family (2 adults, 1 kid, 1 baby) stayed at this hotel for a week and their services were very good (the front office people were very helpful and speak English). The hotel location is very convenient, close to Insadong market and other places, 5 minutes walk to Anguk station (the limousine bus stops here from airport) and most of all, the hotel includes free breakfast. The room has complete kitchen set (microwave, stove, pots/pans, utensils, plates, fork, cups, etc) which a big plus, and separate living room with a TV, the bedroom also has a TV. Overall, we are happy that we chose this hotel - recommended for a family (they provide free baby crib and you can ask for an extra bed at additional cost if need to).
“If going back to Seoul, would use this hotel again.”
We can recommend this apartment hotel;location is great:subway station 5 minutes away, shops and restaurants around the corner plus a lot of sight seeing attractions nearby. Staff is polite and very helpful, their english is perfect. We would recommend this place,it's great.
