“Great facilities and great service”
Very nice hotel, as you would expect. Situated on hill surrounded by nearby shopping and eating establishments. Went to a wonderful live theatre recommended by hotel staff, was a highlight of the stay.
“Not impressed and too noisy”
When I checked in, there was a maintainance work happening upstairs of my room, and they didn't even told me about this. Then at night it stopped but at around 7am or 8am they started again and terribly noisy. Told this to the manager and they didn't care. Also they charge a huge money for Internet and breakfast and neither of them are so good for us to pay that amount of money.
“Great service, beautiful property, room a bit small but nice”
Great hotel in the Center of Seoul!
“Dirty Overpriced, Old Hotel; Poor Location”
I love visiting Seoul, and glad that business takes me there from time-to-time. Due to limitation in hotel space, I was forced to book at this over-priced and over-rated hotel. Location: It isn't near anything, and the grounds are under construction. If you want to take a walk, the best opportunity is to walk down the back streets to Gangnam Station. However, the hotel is perched on a hill and you will have to climb to get back to the lobby. Room: I checked on early, and my room was not ready. They gave me a free upgrade to a room with a balcony. The balcony was filthy and could not be used. The furnishings, bedspread, and carpet had that dirty feeling that made me want to shower after touching anything. A fire drill in the room across the hall was an added touch I could have done without. Service: Housekeeping was okay, but forget about the call button to have your room made. It is ignored. There is a plethora of overzealous hotel people in lobby. Every time you walk through, they are in your face to see if you need anything. It is annoying at best. Restaurant: The food is adequate, but nothing special. Bottom line: this hotel is expensive, and a lacking wannabe of the premium hotels in the area. It feels dirty and old.
“Would stay there again in a heartbeat!”
Wonderful hotel!! The staff spoke perfect English and the hotel was beautiful and well-located but still quiet. My sister was visiting me in Korea so we took a few nights at the Ritz, just for fun. Since it was her first time in Seoul, they upgraded us to a suite on the concierge level... It was beautiful. The staff was helpful in advising us about vegetarian restaurants (for my sister) and in booking some excursions. The only problem we had was the temperature of our room. The hotel uses central heating, so unless you open a window, the rooms will not cool in winter and it was boiling! Once we opened the window, it was infinitely more comfortable, but still kind of a hassle. Otherwise, I'd recommend this place to anyone traveling in Seoul!
“very comfortable”
not much needs to be said, very great hotel.
“Best bed and pillows”
very comfortable bed and pillows. thick curtains on the window. slept really good every night. hotel staff were very friendly and courteous. everything was excellent except one thing... no concierge service. asked for a phone number to a beauty salon in the area but was told they couldn't give me the number other than their own hair salon in the hotel. asked for a near-by restaurant's number but same thing. maybe it's just me but expected a lot more concierge service from ritz... some hotels i stayed in the past even made the dinner reservations for me.
“Great hotel”
Great quality for the price. The staff was really friendly and understanding.
“Superb service as always!”
We booked at the last minute due to a change in travel plans and found a room that was ready for us later that evening when we arrived. We've stayed at the Ritz before in Seoul and loved it, although the furnishing were looking a bit dated. But it was always clean and the staff was always very courteous and extremely helpful and kind. The staff has not changed at all and were even more helpful! My mom and I both prefer a colder room, but with the centralized temperature control setting the hotel at a comfortable warm temperature, it almost seemed we'd just sleep in a warmer room than we would've liked. Not so! The hotel staff was kind enough to bring up and set up a mini portable air conditioner unit to help cool the room. With plenty of tea bags, our stay was now officially perfect! Just as a note too, When we stayed there in May 2009, all of the furniture and rooms were completely updated and renovated. We had a big widescreen TV instead of the tiny older slide-out box TV from before and even bathroom had a fabulous rain shower head. Now the hotel is much more modern in furnishings and super luxe. A must stay if you're in Gangnam and want to be close to the shopping but not right next door since that can be too noisy.
“Right in the center”
The Ritz Seoul is a grand hotel in the center of the city giving a great service and with friendly staff.
