“Good location, best value for money”
We went to Berjaya Beau Vallon in Mahe after a lovely 2-day stay at the Coco de Mer Hotel on Praslin Island. We had done extensive research regarding hotels in Mahe and were pleasantly surprised by the Berjaya Hotel from the moment we arrived to the time we left. The location on one of the most beautiful beaches in Mahe was great, the Deluxe room was spacious and pleasant and the sandy beach and blue water were the loveliest. The breakfast buffet was quite rich and diverse and the Pizzeria Restaurant right on the Beach was perfect. Prices inside the hotel were reasonable and if you like action and people, the Berjaya Beau Vallon is the place. We even did some snorkelling in the Natural Reserve nearby. It was memorable.
“Vegetarians Will Starve!”
This hotel has nothing to impress with. Rooms and facilities are probably what you'd expect in this price range - nothing more. The service falls below expectations (staff will never acknowledge your existence until you greet them and thus force them to notice you - we only encountered 3 exceptions to this in 5 days). In addition, there is no gym. I read in reviews from previous years that there was an exercise room, which guests deemed to be "below standard", so Management solved the problem not by improving the room but by removing it entirely. My last and biggest grievance is the food: vegetarians and healthy eaters be warned - you will STARVE in this hotel. The food is terribly overpriced and of poor quality, the selection of vegetables and salads on the menu is small to non-existent. My fiance and I are never going anywhere near this hotel again. If you want my advice - go to the Maldives or Mauritius, don't bother with the Seychelles at all!
