Birgo Guest HousePosted Oct 18, 2011 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed our stay at Birgo in La Digue. Denise the manager was kind to arrange certain things for us. We just wish we were told ahead of time that there would be a fee for the bikes as we thought it was complementary. The breakfast on the verranda was lovely; gardens beautifully kept, nice pool although small; lovely lounge area and happy to get wireless internet although difficult at times. The restaurant at Chateau St. Cloud was excellent for our halfboard; superb! Thanks again for helping to make our time at spectacular La Digue so memorable!

A pleasant experiencePosted Oct 18, 2011
The location of Birgo is good , about ten minutes walk to the jetty and surrounding shops & eating places, there is also a couple of supermarkets even closer. The hotel is friendly, the breakfast ok, and the rooms clean. the only downside is the lack of privacy both at breakfast and when having a late evening drink. The reason for this is that the chalets are fairly close and face each other. I would strongly advise taking a torch and some pale clothing as many of the push bikes have no lights, so in the evening with no street lights it can be a bit hazardous. This is a lovely little island and well worth a visit.
