Not worth the cost, but has potential

Posted Apr 26, 2014
The hotel was much more run-down than we expected. Nice location, and the staff was very friendly. But the facilities were simply not in very good condition. It seemed to be a common theme among many of the hotels in the Seychelles. This hotel has potential, and hopefully they do some serious renovations to bring it inline with the room rate.

Hotel lacking facilities, Excellant staff.

Posted Mar 8, 2014
Pros: Location, helpfulness of staff, access to public transport, standard of food available. Adequate.
Cons: A More honest description prior to booking of actual facilities. Jaded requiring much maintenance to address health and safety issues some updating.
Location: Surrounded by beaches within easy walkng distance or short drive. Good location and access to capital Victoria for shopping, cinema etc
Disappointed on arrival , to be informed, that the expected TV, DVD player, iPod Dock and wi-fi was not available in the room. Booked as a Deluxe Bungalow with sea view. Fact not a bungalow , sea view majority obscured by shrubs. Connecting door to neighbouring room with no working lock on the door. (.large wooden sofa sited across connecting door ) No blanket or light weight duvet for bed.

Don't fall for the hotel pictures

Pros: staff
Cons: outside deck and area.
Location: okay
I think hotel management never heard of the word maintenance. It is in a great location, lovely views and helpful staff. Sun bed, wooden railings & floor, bathroom walls, breakfast area, balcony, furniture etc all are in dreadful condition. Ohh the restaurant Lounge 8 has a surprise menu (580 or 800 rupees person) they just tell you it will be 3 course or 5 course meal. lol. Never heard of this before. Have to take bus 5 rupees or taxi 250 rupees to go to Beu Vallon where 4 restaurants available. Nice beach tho.

Very good hotel, high service quality for the price. Room are spacious and comfy, beautifully decorated in a zen island spirit. Staff is very friendly and helpful but knows how to give you your space and will not bother you or push you to consume more. Everything in this hotel is done with taste and you will feel in a special place far away from any worries. The hotel does not have a pool but a beautiful beach and lounge. Perfect for honey mooners and couple, but I went with friends and enjoyed it too! Just plan a little extra budget for taxis if you are planning for excursions as the hotel is 15 min from Victoria the capital city...

Bliss Hotel

Posted Mar 13, 2012
Pros: A really lovely boutique hotel right on the beach. Great staff, great breakfast.
Cons: The weather!
Location: Right on the beach which was lovely, but if you want to get around a lot you will need a hire car.
If you like the sound of crashing waves and enjoy looking straight out at the Indian Ocean, then this is the place for you. The weather was unkind for most of our stay and if we go back we would try to go there when the weather is a bit calmer as we could not swim at the hotel as the sea was too rough. However, the hotel made up for it. It is not 5 star luxury, but is a classic boutique hotel - it has character and is personal, just the way it should be. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in Room 2, with steps down to the terrace and beach straight from the room. This room also has an outside bathroom - we loved it, although it may not be to everyone's taste. Room 2 is also right next to reception - again, not everyone's cup of tea, but it meant that we had wifi in our room, which no other room has. Breakfast was superb each morning - we ate in our room due to the rain, but it is normally served on the terrace about 10 feet from the ocean. We ate at the attached 8 Lounge restaurant 2 nights and had their 5 course surprise meal - it was excellent both times. Bliss is a little isolated, but we had a hire car so we could get around. However, there is a bus stop right outside if you don't have a car. In summary, a great place and we would go back.
