Good hotel location, but horrible servicePosted Sep 9, 2013
Pros: The location. The beach is very good, we can ear the sound of the ocean from the room.
Cons: The quality of the staff and the beach should have services like boats, paddle surf, etc.
Location: There are lots of restaurants near the hotel, but very expensive. For tourists that like sports and adventure, they can buy it in the beach.
The location of the hotel was great. But the staff needs training. Not very friendly and the service is very, very slowly, expensive and not good. They are many, but it's better less employees that work better. The buffet/ restaurant doesn't have too many options for what we expect in a 4 stars hotel and the quality of the products was bad. Eg: fruits, bread, salads, etc.

Disapointed experiancePosted Apr 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
My stay wasn't absolutely terrible, however I expected more for the price. The A/C didn't work properly and when I asked for help from maintenance all I received was attitude from the maintenance person. The overall result was no A/C for my stay. I requested room service to bring up some Ice and had to call 3 times before I received a response. The Ice finally made it to my room 4 hours later. The view from my room was outstanding. I could relax on my balcony and and enjoy the view of the ocean. If I were to come back I would probably stay at a different hotel.

Met expectations but could be betterPosted Mar 25, 2013
Pros: the beach
Cons: the simplicity of it
Location: very good location, close to victoria and airport and a nice large beach.
good view, ok food, nice room but a bit to clinical, bed could be more soft, it meet our expectations. The beach is very nice and thats probably the best part. Hotel is very average for seychelles standard but the sunset view on the beach is priceless. Good if you are staying for 2 or 3 nights and then travelling on. Pretty ok service but if you can afford a more expensive hotel, try that instead as the standard goes up a lot :)

Not impressedPosted Mar 7, 2013
Pros: Right on a GREAT beach. Decent breakfast buffet and TV Channels.
Cons: Internet connection. Restaurant service...
The hotel is ok, definitely no worth the money you pay for. Our room had some tinny insects in the closet and bathroom. Internet connection was an issue. The front desk personnel were ok. 90 percent of the restaurant staff was rude and inattentive. A couple of times, it took over 20 min for them to give us the menu, another 20 to take our order and another 20 to bring the food. We had to complaint to the manager and surprisingly it worked. The personnel become more attentive and proactive. The manager, Anthony, was super professional by identifying and solving the issue immediately. For almost the same price, you can get Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay a few doors down. We went there for dinner and it was much nicer, cleaner, more night activities, more variety in their menu, staff was attentive and quick. However, menu prices were more expensive. There are very few restaurants and convenient stores a couple blocks from the hotel. DT is like 15 min taxi drive.

Ok but definitely not a 4 stars!Posted Jan 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
Location is great, right in the middle of Beau Vallon beach. Efficient and fast check in, though we were not offered any drinks on arrival... I had specifically requested for an accessible room as we were travelling with a baby, stroller, car seat etc... we were given a room on the second floor and at the other end of the hotel, would not be an issue had the elevator been working for our entire stay! Food is good, like the couple of other places we tried on the beach (La plage & Baobab) though very expensive. They don't have any room service which we found very weird, since they are supposed to be a 4 stars...we asked to have ice delivered to our room and were requested to go and pick it up from the bar...? Internet was not working (reception and room) which was rather annoying! Room is ok, though the beds are very hard and the room is a tad small... If you are like me (a neat freak) then you will find it hard to settle in this room as there are no drawers, organizing space... Cleaning of the room was ok, though they did not even pick up dirty glasses, empty bottles of water etc... Late checkout to 9.00 pm (EK flight) possible for an extra 80 euros. Nice outside lounge / seating areas on the first floor though again lacking service. Overall stay pleasant but we did not feel we were in a 4 stars... If you can afford the extra, i would recommend the meridien fisherman cove, located on the same beach, 500 m away.

Convenient location but service not the bestPosted Jan 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
Overall, we enjoyed our stay though we were unfortunate with the weather. The hotel location and the newly renovated room made up for less than attentive personnel and level of service. However, the amenities are rather basic - small pool (sea too rough for swimming), no kids club, public lounge quite small, wifi very slow, our sheets were not changed once yet we spent 5 nights, to have your room cleaned you need to display a sign or else it won't happen, long wait in coffee lines as there is only one coffee machine in the cafeteria for 140 rooms and there is no other way to get coffee, etc. The New Year's party was a disorganised affair, with chaotic meal service and entertainment that bordered on the ridiculous (New Year's speech by the Russian President broadcast by the pool for all guests regardless of nationality!). Shall not return.

Not geared to the needs of business travelersPosted Nov 3, 2012 on Hotels.com
Coral Strand advertises itself as a business and leisure offering. This is not strictly true. Shortcomings include no business centre, very slow Internet, and settlement accounts presented by the hotel that do not reconcile to those obtained on-line when booking is made. While I have no hesitation in recommending Coral Strand as a leisure destination, it does not cater to the needs of business travelers. Hopefully this will be rectified in future, after the "soft opening" is finished.

Good ValuePosted Aug 30, 2012
Pros: good value and beach location
Cons: Pool was down for maintenance and hotel construction is ongoing which was a minor nuisance.
Location: Beach location was nice
Not the greatest hotel, but good value for the money in comparison to the other pricey hotels. The beach location was very good, but beach was only OK. Several good beach restaurants within walking distance, but naturally on the pricey side as is everything in Seychelles. Cab fare from the airport to the hotel was about $50.
