Great for solo traveler

Pros: near subway line 2 within 5-minute walking distance.
Cons: rather noisy due to the poor insulation n construction works outside.
Location: amazing...within 5-minute walking to line 2 subway station.
The level of noise inside the hotel due to bad insulation, while outside the sound of construction next to the hotel. Asking for blanket and given the 2nd night. TV didn't work, wifi was bad in the room, even if I was near the receptionist. No english-speaking staffs. Subway station line 2 is pretty closed within 5-minute walking distance. Quite a lot of stores nearby. Pretty good location, even the room is rather small but comfy.

Save your money, STAY SOMEWHERE else

This hotel smelled so musty, it was disgusting. There was some sort of roach that crawled on the door. Our key card never worked so staff had to let us in instead of resetting it or whatever they needed to do to get it to work. We pretty much just slept there so if you are looking to only sleep in your room, it's an ok hotel. We didn't have a suitcase, just a backpack with our clothes. If you have a suitcase, you wouldn't have any room to put it without stepping on or over it. Trust me, this is a nasty hotel, don't stay here!

Close to all Bund sights

The hotel rooms are quite small and the maintenance is like many buildings in China - average at best. The walls are thin and don't bother with a window.. The cleanliness didn't seem bad, the sheets were clean and the bed decently comfy. The staff tried to be nice. For the price and location if you are ok with a budget hotel - go for it.

a bad hotel

Pros: nothing.
Cons: the hallway is littered with stuff, the bathroom lighting is insufficient.
Location: the location is good, one block from the subway station.
I will never use this hotel again. The hallway is filled with hotel stuff. It's used as storage space. The lighting in the bathroom is so dark that you can barely see your face in the mirror - it's creepy.

A bit disappointed

Room is tiny; booked two beds, but got one bed. Very noisy from outside streets whole day long including the night. Good location though, walking distance to the bund, the people's square, the famous east nanjing road and Yu Yuan, and metro stations, etc.

Roach Hotel

Posted Nov 20, 2011 on Hotels.com
I had a two nights stay at this hotel on the second week of November. The room was very small and the water didn't drain properly on the shower floor. I can live with that. On the second day, I discovered the cockroaches roaming on the bed. I was very angry and disgusted. Since the receptionist doesn't speak English well, I have to kill some cockroaches and bring them to the counter so that he can assign another room Stay away from this hotel at any cost!!!!!!!!!! I called the Hotels.com and complaint regarding my experience at this hotel. Hotels.com offer me $10 voucher for next purchase. What a joke!!!!!!
