Good central hotel

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Cons: The air conditioner kept resetting itself throughout the night, and it was loud enough to wake us up!
Location: Central location, but I would have preferred to stay in Xiandi.
Nice hotel, helpful and friendly staff, but not many restaurants around - Xiandi is a better location to stay in IMO.

Luxury hotel in wonderful location.

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: We found the staff to be extremely helpful, especially Stockton, the head Consierge.
Cons: We would have appreciated being offered refills on our coffee at breakfast.
Location: The location was perfect for our needs -- only one block from Nanjing Road and about a ten minute walk to the Bund.
Spent two nights at this hotel. Room was clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed. The only negative, and it is minor, is that we did not have a great view.

Very close to the Bund and main shopping areas.

Pros: Staff
Cons: Breakfast should be included in all deals.
I visited the hotel with my wife and daughter. I work in Nanjing and wanted the to experience Shanghai. They were amazed at the hotel and the location is perfect. We could see the Pearl Tower from our bedroom window. We will definitely be visiting this hotel again.

Luxurious Feel, Extreme Comfort, Perfect Location

This was a highlight of our trip to China. New hotel one block of the famous Nanjing Rd. The staff that checked us in spoke near perfect English and may have been multinational. The room, superior king, was massive. Huge walkin shower, separate tub and all this in marble. Not just the typical coverup marble with horrible grout lines and looking like it had not been cleaned in years, NO. Perfectly clean and looked like skilled craftsmen installed. I am maybe into too many details like that but it says a lot about the rest of the place when these types of details are perfect. I only ate once in the cafe breakfast buffet. It was nothing lacking and nothing extraordinary but had all western and Asian options available. Highly recommend this place.

Truly Terrific

The Grand Central is one of the best hotels we have stayed in anywhere in the world. The wide-open lobby/restaurant area is lovely and spacious (we looked at the Westin, which was claustrophobic in comparison), and the rooms are truly 5 star. Plus the location is central to the Bund, Nanking Road, Renmin square, and the old town, making walking to any of those areas easy. Highly recommended.

Pros: Location
Cons: Nothing
Location: The Bund shopping centre, the night life plus I went to the Shanghai Grand Prix.
The Grand Central Hotel is just that....perfectly located for this very vibrant busy city......wonderfully attentive staff, very high spec rooms and an overall top hotel to stay in when in Shanghai....I look forward to returning in the future!!!!!

Location: Great location, minutes walk from the Bund, steps from East Nanjing Rd.
Very good location, helpful staff, nice room. Gym was disappointing, hardly any weight machines, mostly trademills.
