“Good service”

I really enjoyed my stay in Hilton, everything was really good, the only thing not that good was that the room need to be renovated.

“Five Stars”

I thoroughly enjoyed my two days at the Shanghai Hilton. I don't understand reviews I have read that said the hotel is neglected. I found everything outstanding: my room, the restaurants, the fitness center, check-in, everything. I would love to stay here again. The concierge service is impeccable.

“Great step up in luxury, but not in PRICE!”

Was previously staying at a "4 star" self rated place in Shanghai which I had been to twice before in the previous month...but just wasnt feeling the love from the hotel as a repeat customer. Subequently, when I elected to extend my stay in Shanghai by one night I thought I would give a new hotel - enter The Hilton on Hua Shan Lu. Great service from end to end, heaps more facilities, a stellar view from my Panoramic Room, plus right in the middle of the french concession and 5 mins walk from a subway!AND only a $10 increase in the room charge! Ill be going back for sure!

“Great food. Check out the Spa”

Helpful staff. Great food breakfast buffet and dinner buffet. Stringed quartet at dinner. Great music in the bar off lobby after 8. Discovered spa last day in hotel. What a find. Wish I could move in and enjoy it daily. Overall very nice. also, get your shirts done in a real chinese laundry. Never better.

“Decent hotel”

The Hilton Shanghai is a decent hotel, but not the best I've stayed in. The Radisson New World is nicer but I would definitely stay at the Hilton again. Breakfast and laudry service is very expensive, however. With surcharge, breakfast is $32.64 US! There's a great little bar across the street called Old Manhattan, where you can order some very good Indian food from the restaurant above.

“A very good hotel, very functional.”

A very good business hotel and near the scenic French Concession. The staff was extremely professional and helpful. This is a very useful business hotel and near the Hongqiao Airport. My only gripe is that I'm a fanatical swimmer and the pool is only about 16 meters long--just something for the kids to splash around in.

“Lousy check in service, average decor, comfortable room and good room service”

The service at the front desk was absolutely sub-par taking into consideration that this is supossed to be a superior category lodging. When checking in, upon being requested to hand in both my passport and that of my girlfriend, we explained that my girlfriend's passport was being held by the Chinese Police for the procurement of a Visa Extension but the clerk refused to let us check in (using my passport) until she received the police slip by fax, even though this would obviously take a long time to find. During the two hour interim neither my partner nor myself received any complimentary attentions, something definitely not in line with 4 or five star hotel service standards. It's rather unpleasant to receive such treatment when you know that I could perfectly check in as a single customer and take my girlfriend in as a visitor, but were only trying to follow the rules. Once we were able to check in everything was fine, the hotel decor was a bit demodé (more like that of a three star airport hotel), but the bed was very comfortable and the in room dining service was rather good.
