This hotel is absolutely not a four star hotel, at most it can be rated as an one star hotel.

good bargin with a few issuesPosted Dec 22, 2012 on Hotels.com
I stayed at 5th floor first, the room and bathroom are spacious. Unfortunately the hallway was always filled w/ cigarette smell and it got into the room. Then I moved to 6th floor, the room got smaller, but the hallway smelled much better. And I got a nicer window facing outward. The neighborhood is not glam and glitz. Streets were lined up with small restaurants and all kinds of street vendors at night. Major constructions (retail/commerical) are going on in the neighborhood but noisey level is very low. Once they are done, this neighborhood will get more expensive like the rest of the city. If you are looking for a bargin, wanting to know how locals live and don't mind a little distance to major sights, this is a good choice.

Not a 4 star hotelPosted Dec 5, 2012
Location: This is not close to the main attractions or city life of shanghai. It's down a dirty little street with many food street vendors.
The room & bathroom are large, but everything is dated or worn. The towels were tattered, the wall paper peeling (with unidentifiable stuff smeared in some spots), the desk chair was really worn, the vent fan squealed, and the carpets had stains. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel..more like 2 star. When we questioned the hotel, they said it was built based on a 4 star standard!? If you'll looking for an alternative to a hostel, for a low price and private room, this hotel is actually a great deal, but if you're looking for a deal on a 4 star hotel, look elsewhere.

It is not so badPosted Nov 12, 2012
Pros: noises of monkys
Cons: noises of monkys
They gave me a down grade room. But that was O.K. the room had some better thing. There were another matter that many noisy monkeys in the hotel. That was interesting, but so disturbing my comfortness.

Where old and new minglePosted Sep 19, 2012
Cons: Cleanliness of the room.
Location: Very well situated
Very well situated - walking distance to the metro station. Accessible to ATM machine and convenience store. It is also within the residential area. If you are interested in chinese culture, it is a very interesting place to be. Communication definitely a challenge as the staff does not speak english at all.
