“A good Hotel in Shanghai”
The staff was very friendly and the room comfortable. Only issue was the carpets in the room looked worn and dirty, really need to be updated. Pricing was good but be wary of the "add ons". If you like breakfast, theirs is a nice buffet of both Western and Eastern styles, but it will cost you an additional 20 usd or so if it is not part of your rate. Also internet is extra althouh reasonable. The area is decent but it can be difficult for a taxi or your driver to get to as it is a very busy road and depending on direction travelled it may require going down the road a few blocks and executing a U-turn. I would not go out of my way to stay there, but if the location fits your needs it is a good choice.
“A Decent Hotel that Met My Family's Needs”
This hotel met my family's needs by offering a suite with two bedroomsand two baths to accommodate three generations. The kitchen had a fairly large refrigerator and freezer so we could go to the market and purchase basic products to drink and snack on. The amenities were good, with slippers, an ironing board, clothes line, coffee maker, microwave, and a wide variety of toiletries. I only have two minor complaints. I wanted to exchange money, but the hotel ran out of RMB for two days, so I had to go find a bank. Although I had difficulty finding it, it turned out to be only two blocks away. Cleanliness was not up to my standards. However, based on all the hotels we stayed at in China, it was the cleanest. The concierge was helpful and provided tickets to see an acrobat show. His recommendation was a good one, as far as the actual show we selected. We did not use any other hotel services, such as the restaurants or pool. The breakfast was overpriced for what we wanted, and there were several good restaurant options within walking distance. Overall, it was a satisfying experience that met my needs.
“Friendly staff but I am not impressed with the hotel up kept and facility”
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, yet I am disappointed with how the room was kept. I found water spilling off to the master bathroom floor as the tub was set in a way where water on the skirt on the tub spill onto the floor. On the other bathroom, the shower was not setup properly where anytime you take a shower the water spill onto the floor as well. The safe in my room didn't work and I can't reset the password, after the staff attempted to fix it the first time it locked up and won't open, I had to wait over 40 mins for them to finally replace one for me. Then I found the water heater in the kitchen didn't work either, they have to replace that as well. I would have thought they would have at least checked the appliances prior to new guest check in. Sigh Also most of the taxi driver that I used had a hard time locating the hotel as well, even though I speak fluent Mandarin and have the address.
