“Would Definitely Stay At This Hotel Again”
Not having traveled to Shanghai, China before, I did not know what to expect with the hotel even though I did view photographs of it before I booked the travel package. For the relatively low cost of the hotel, I was surprised that it was a four (4) star rated hotel. It deserves every one of those stars. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The staff was very helpful with translating English into Chinese for me in order to communicate with non-English speaking persons in Shanghai such as taxi drivers, etc. While was room was smaller than the typical American room, it was still a very nice room. Everything was in very good condition and well maintained. Without a doubt, I would definitely stay at this same hotel if I were to return to Shanghai.
“Excellent quality for your money!”
Excellent quality for your money! Because it is slightly older than other first class hotels in Shanghai, it is considered of slightly poorer quality. But personally I do not share this opinion.
“Excellent Chinese hotel catering to internationals”
Full service, lovely hotel. Excellent services, comfortable rooms (beds hard, though). Very good buffet breakfasts and dinners. All possible services, restaurants, shopping, banking is within 500 meters.
“ma ma hoo hoo”
ma ma hoo hoo means so-so in Chinese. The hotel was not great but acceptable. The only real complaint would be the beds were extremely hard. Compared to other hotels I've stayed in Shanghai this hotel is below -- but functional. it was located near where we needed to be and was pretty clean. they have a travel agent in the lobby we used for all of our domestic travel. very helpful.
“Take the time to read this review...”
Good location for this hotel, right in the XuJiaHui area of Shanghai, very convenient to the Metro and shopping/dining. The "Superior" room was decent, just big enough for our family of 3, but the bed was VERY firm and the tight bathroom layout had the towel racks INSIDE the shower/tub. The bathroom lighting is also typical Chinese poor; hard to shave by or do makeup. We tried to use the pool, but the water temperature was only 75 F, lower than the pool room temperature of 78 F. Speaking of which, since it was 'winter' (early February), the hotel had DISABLED all the rooms' air conditioning and meanwhile turned up the heat, so we kept our room window constantly open but that wasn't enough to keep us from sweating even while just wearing our underwear when we were in our room. They also had the nice-looking rooftop terrace closed off for 'winter'. The staff were friendly and professional, but I'd have mixed feelings about staying here again.
